BBHQ December's Task: How Do You Photograph For Your Blog?

I"m back with another BBHQ task. This months task is about how I photograph for my blog. I am really excited to see others posts of this task too, always looking for new tips.

1. What Camera(s) do you use for your blog photography?
I use Kodak EasyShare Z981. Love my camera :)

2. What type of lighting do you use? Natural light, indoor light, studio lamps, etc.?
If I am just taking pictures of products or makeup looks I tend to use indoor lighting. When I take photos of swatches or nail looks I have been trying to take those photos outside in the natural light. If it's cloudy I just have to settle on indoor lighting for those too.

3. Do you use a lightbox (purchased or DIY?)?
I have talked my husband in to building me one. So that is a project that we will be tackling as soon as we each get the time too.

4. Do you use a specific background?
Currently I just lay a white towel down on my washer or dryer for indoor photos. For my outdoor photos my background is usually blurred out, but it's my back yard. Sometimes I also take photos of my nails in front of a window so sometimes my blinds/window is my background.

5. What does your photographing setup usually look like?
Again, just a white towel on my washer or dryer for indoor photos. If I take photos outside I'm usually just standing on my back porch. For photos taking in front of my window, I'm usually setting in my desk chair or standing at my back door.

6. What is your top photographing tip for a beginner blogger?
My top photographing tip for a beginner would be learn about and how to use the Macro setting on your camera. It will be your best friend when trying to get crisp and clean up close shots.

7. For fun: If you could upgrade your photographing equipment today, what would you buy?
Honestly I think I would buy some studio lamps.
