TIOT: Orly Halleys Comet

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I have found another favorite nail polish, Halleys Comet from Orly! In my opinion it's one of those rare polishes that looks better on the fingers than it does in the bottle. It has a light translucent teal base full of teeny tiny gold and teal flecks of glitter. It applies like a dream and dries a lot quicker than I thought it would, which is good considering I had to use 3 coats to make it fully opaque, although in the sunlight you can see my  nail line. With all the little flecks of glitter, it is super sparkly and looks amazing out in the sun, I have a short video posted over on my Instagram if you would like to check it out.

Short post, still trying to get over my cold :/ Not sure what posts I will have up this week, I'll let it be a surprise for us all :)

Pretty in Polka

Today's post is way late and coming to you from my couch, thank goodness for smart phones! Feeling a bit under the weather, either a yucky summer time cold or bad allergies :(

Today I have a super fun polish from Maybelline Color Show, Pretty in Polka! It has black and white glitters, the larger ones are hex shaped and best I can tell the smaller ones look like circles, all in a light pink base. I used 3 coats to get it to the opacity that I was happy with, luckily the coats dry fast.

I really like it, a fun polish for summer :)
Hope you all have had a great day!

TIOT: Wet n Wild Deception

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

A while ago I picked up all the polishes from the Wet n Wild Street Art Collection and I have been trying to get them all tried out. This week I tried out Deception a gorgeous purple jelly! When I did my nails I wasn't really feeling a glittery look, so I took a different approach to the 'Jelly Sandwich', I did some stamping in between the jelly layers!

I started out with two coats of Deception, letting each one dry completely before moving on. Next I took my Konad Stamping plate M57 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White and stamped on the zebra pattern. Topped that off with one more coat of Deception and then some topcoat.

Just to look at it, it looks like I stamped with a lighter purple color, but it is in fact a jelly sandwich. I love love love this manicure and will be trying out some different stamping patterns and stamping colors with it in the future.

I seen this fun little nail polish quiz floating around and thought I would give it a try, basically you are trying to guess the correct color of a swatch, I was impress I got silver. Give it a try and let me know what you get.

Off to run some errands, but I shall return tomorrow with some 'polka dots'!

Empties: May 2014

I so meant to get this up on Friday but never got around too it, it was hubby's birthday :)

I have been hoarding my trash for a few months now, so I thought it was about time to do another empties post.

As you can see the majority of it was hair products, then we have the little family of nail polish removers.

Suave touchable finish is my all time favorite hair spray and I rarely if ever buy anything but it. I tend to only use this when I wear my hair in it's naturally curly state, it helps to hold my style while not leaving my hair feeling all crunchy.

Avon's Advanced Techniques Moroccan Argon  Oil shampoo was nothing spectacular, neither was the Suave Moroccan oil shampoo. Probably would not bother with buying either one of them again. Once I finish my current bottle of Suave Moroccan shampoo I will be on the hunt for another inexpensive shampoo. If you know any good ones leave them in the comments.

The Volumizing mousse is pretty good, I alternate between it and all the other mousse's and curly hair products I have. My Mother-in-Law picks this up for me when she visits Sally's Beauty.

Lastly I have my little family of nail polish removers, I have no clue where these have been hiding LOL. I also think it's funny that all 3 are a different kind, obviously I have no preference of polish removers.

What products have you used up recently or this month?

Tomorrow I plan to be back with a TIOT manicure that I am so in love with, been looking at my nails all weekend :)

Hope you enjoy the rest of your day. I'm gonna go squeeze in watching an episode of Pretty Little Liars before hubby gets up! Anyone else watch that? I watched one episode of it on Netflix and now I'm kind of hooked.

Mint Mani

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Y'all I am so in love with today's mani! I was going through my drawer of unworns trying to decide what I wanted to do with my nails and I kept coming back to That's What I Mint, the last of my unworn Essence polishes, I'm a sucker for mint shades so I love this one too. I didn't want to paint them a solid color so I dug around in that drawer some more and found one of the polishes I had picked up from Rue 21 which also has mint in it's name, Mint Crush. I decided I would give these two a try together, I swear they were 'Mint' for each other! LOL see what I did there.

I started out with two coats of That's What I Mint, of course application was flawless and it had a super fast dry time. In the bottle you can see some shimmer, but it did not show up on my nails. I used Mint Crush for my stamping color and used Mash plate 42, picked that up on Amazon. Mint Crush is a fantastic polish for stamping. Next time I'm near a Rue 21 I am going to pick up some more of their polishes!

So in love with both of these colors and the cool stamping design, hubby even said it was cool looking :)

Tomorrow I think I will do an empties post so I can stop hoarding trash LOL Hope you all are having a great day and if you live in the south watch out, I've heard it might be kinda stormy :/

Review: Kiss Everlasting French Nails

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I have a love hate relationship with the Kiss Everlasting French Nails, I have used them a couple times before and  it was nice to receive them in the Spring Fling VoxBox from Influenster.

Super easy to use and apply, clean your nails then match up the nails to your nails for the correct fit using the numbers on the tabs, dab on some glue and press them on. You'll have red carpet fingers in no time!

The nails are great quality and not all that expensive, around $5-$6 at Walmart. I love how these have the little number tabs that you can tear off once you've applied them. Those tabs make it so easy to find the correct fit for you nails, unlike some nails that you have to turn over and squint to see the tiny number. They come with several different sizes, so I feel these would work well for almost everyone. I really like how natural these look once you have them on, very pretty look.

Now to the part I don't like about these nails, the glue. I hate using the glue because it always wrecks my nails and I tend to loose a nail within a day or two of applying them. I would much rather use the ones that have the sticky 'glue' already applied to them, like the imPress nails from Broadway. But I have to admit they look so great on. I will also admit that I did not use the glue that came with these for this review, I used some sticky tabs that I got with another nail kit. Didn't see the point in wrecking my nails again since I have used these in the past.

I think these nails would be great for a special occasion such as a wedding or even prom. Have you tried the Kiss Everlasting French nails? If not would you?

TIOT: Essence Mister Rusty

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Today I have Mister Rusty from Essence for ya. This is a gorgeous copper shade with some gold shimmer, perfect color for fall, and I will most definitely be rocking this color again then! As with all the Essence polishes I've tried, it had great application and a super short dry time. These polishes are the perfect thing for doing your nails if you are in a hurry or even to take on vacation because you don't have to sit around ane wait for them to dry!

I have one Essence polish left that Lizzy sent me to try out, I'm gonna try to get to it in the next few weeks. I have too many unworns and it makes it hard to decide what I want to wear LOL #NailHoarderProblems

I know short post, but I'm off to do some birthday shopping for my hubby ;)
Hope you all are having a great day!

Favorites: May 2014

It has been a while since I've done a Favorites post, February was actually the last one. Within those few months I have found a few new favorites I wanted to share with you, a few are old rediscovered favorites.

We'll start with my new favorite hair product, L'Oreal Sleek It Iron Straight Heat Spray. I got this in my Ulta Haul earlier this year. It seems to shorten my straightening time and really keeps the frizz at bay, the thing I like most about it is you can feel it conditioning your hair while you are styling it. Leaves my hair feel so soft and smooth. Will be purchasing again once I use this one up!

Up next are a few skin/body products. I have been using my Perlier Volcanic Thermal Scrub about once a week to get my skin looking soft and smooth for spring/summer. I love this stuff, it is a little harsh, but not so much that it bothers me. I have also been loving my Udderly Smooth hand cream that I picked up at the Dollar Tree a while back. Hands down the best hand cream I've ever used, does not leave my hands feeling greasy at all and really makes them feel soft. I love my Gud Body Butter in Floral Cherrynova, smells so amazing and provides my skin with a lot of moisture leaving it feeling super soft and smooth. My last skin favorite is one that I've had for a while, the Julep Glycolic Hand Scrub. It got pushed back and hid on my shelf, but it leaves your hands so soft, a nice weekly treatment :)

I had quite a few new eye favorites this time around. The Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliner is amazing, I can do my makeup in the morning and not have to worry about my eyeliner fading or smudging! For the past few months I have found my self grabbing the same 4 eyeshadows; ELF Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick in Little Miss Thing, Avon Cream Shadows in Champagne and Hazelnut and Avon Glazewear Diamonds in Mauved Metal. I have also switched my eye primer to Primed and Ready Eye Primer from Prestige works amazing! I had to throw in my Maybelline One by One Volume Express mascara, love this stuff so much!

For Face favorites I have one new and one old. My new favorite is Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation, best foundation I have found for my normal to dry skin. My old favorite is NYC's Sunny Bronzer, perfect shade for my fair skin and it's super affordable.

I have two fragrances that I can't quit using, both from Bath & Body Works. Coconut Water that I picked up last fall at one of their big sales. I have also been loving French Lavender & Honey, went ahead and bought a back up of it!

I do believe that is it for my Favorites! What are some of the products you are currently loving?
