Last year Avon introduced a breakthrough mascara, the Mega Effects Mascara. I was skeptical about trying this out so I waited quite some time and got it while it was on sale.
You may have seen this mascara around, it's the one that looks like a paint brush. Avon calls it the Wonderbrush, it bends and adjusts to multiple angles so it catches all your lashes. Avon claims it fits natural shape of lashes allowing it to coat them all evenly from root to tip. They designed the brush this way so it would deliver 40% more mascara to the lashes.
Avon claims that the mascara provides 24 hour volume, leaves lashes darker, denser and more dramatic. Formula is supposed to be clump-proof, sweat-proof, non-flaking and non-smudging.
For me, I found this mascara to be quite awkward to work with. I could not really find a way to bend the wand that felt somewhat natural for me. It does not hold curl, which is no big surprise to me because I have have a hard time finding a mascara that will hold curl. I did not see any added volume, I don't think my lashes looked denser or dramatic. I will say it did leave my lashes looking darker, but ummm, isn't that what mascara is supposed to do?
In this first photo I have the Mega Effects on one eye:
And in this photo I have it on both eyes:
I honestly do not see what all the hype was about this mascara. I don't feel that it done anything for my lashes that a regular mascara couldn't have done. The only claims the Mega Effects met for me, is that it did leave my lashes darker, it's non-clumping and that it is non-flaking. I will not be repurchasing this and I will be sticking to my Maybelline One by One Volume Express.
Avon Mega Effects retails for $10
Have you tried this mascara? Did you have better luck with it than I did?

Favorites: April
I'm back with my April Favorites, better late than never :)

Almost everyday in April I used my MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. I love this palette mostly because it's neutral colors. There are so many different ways that you can wear this palette and the colors are absolutely beautiful!
I have also went back to using my CoverGirl BB Cream. I feel like this product really does smooth out the way my skin looks and for a lack of better words blurs out all the stuff you don't want to show up. I also like it because it is very light weight.
I have also been using my Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. I have been loving this type of product for my hair for a few months now, I was using a different brand, but I feel like they both do the same thing for my hair, make it look soft and shiny. The smell is amazing too!
I have been using a new toner which is now one of my favorites. I was using the toner that comes with the proactive set, and when I ran out I found L'Oreal Hydrafresh Toner, I feel like it works as well as the one I was using before. Leaves my face feeling hydrated.
I like my Gud by Burt's Bees so much that I picked up from Big Lots for $2 so much that I am still kicking myself for not picking up more of these! First the smell is great and it leaves my skin feeling super duper soft and smooth. Absorbs quickly too and does not leave you feeling greasy.
Last but not least is a mascara from Avon that found it's way to the bottom of my mascara basket and then I tried it again and it has been working well for me this past month. It is their Super Magnify mascara, I find that name to be comical because of what the brush looks like:

See... such tiny bristles, but it does work pretty good. Does a good job at grabbing each individual lash.

Review: Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara

I really don't think this mascara is really anything special. I don't see any real difference in using this mascara versus any other drugstore mascara that I have tried. Then again I've not found a mascara that has really wowed me. I did not have any issues with it clumping on my lashes and it is a very long wearing mascara. I do like the look that it gave my lashes, I think it makes them look fuller. My only complaint about it, is the same complaint that I have with all mascaras, it did not hold the curl in my lashes. But other than that it is a decent drugstore mascara, and one that I would consider purchasing in the future. It retails for $4.99, which I think is a great price for drugstore mascara!
What is your favorite drugstore mascara?

Shop My Stash #2
Sorry for bombarding y'all with three post today. This is the last for today, I promise! I meant to put this up yesterday, but was feeling a little under the weather.
So last week I shopped my Stash for a few products and samples. I really enjoyed my WEI to go Beauty sample of gelled oil cleanser, but I did not like the ideal skin perfect finish that was with it. I put it on and my face looked a hot mess! I think the color was too light for me, so that came right back off! I also really liked the sample of Pixi flawless beauty primer, it was actually a colored primer, not white like all the other primers I've used. I think my ELF eye shadow duos will be getting a lot more use now too, more to come on them in my Try it Again Tuesday post! I didn't get much use out of my Avon Smooth Minerals lip gloss, I found myself always reaching for my Revlon Lip Butter. The Milani eye tech extreme eye liner I am still on the fence about. I had a hard time getting this to look good on my eyes. Will keep trying though.
This week I shopped my stash for the following products:
Wet n Wild Cream eyeliner in Black, City Curls mascara by NYC, L.A. Colors Little Black Book of eye shadows Glam Edition, I picked this up at the Dollar Tree back in March of last year. I really don't think I have used this at all! I also picked two Rimmel Royal lip glosses.

Avon Haul Favorites and Fails
Last weeks Avon Haul was pretty much split down the middle with good products and not so good products.
My favorites from last week are the Social Stackable Ring Set and the Silvertone Floral Cuff Bracelet. I have wore these pieces numerous times over the last week and always get compliments on them. Another favorite from last week is the eye liner brush from Mark, works great to clean up the nail polish that gets on the edges of my fingers.
The fails from last week were both total fails, very disappointed with the following items. The lip tint was terrible, to me it would have been okay if it was not loaded down with shimmer. I don't know about you, but I don't like to have glitter all over my lips. The next fail for me was the Avon 24k gold mascara in the shade golden brown. I don't like super wet formulas for my mascara, but this mascara was BONE dry! Worst mascara I have ever purchased! The final fail from last week is the Super Extend liquid eye liner in the shade brown. It faded pretty bad on me and it did not go on very dark at all, definitely prefer the pencil liners over this liquid liner.
Two products that I have not used from my haul are the Glimmersticks Chrome eye liner in electric pink and the Nailwear Pro+ in Berry Smooth, so I can't offer any type of review/opinion on them. When I do get around to using them I'll let you know what I think of them.
Did you have any 'Fail' products this week? What were they?

Avon Haul Favorites and Fails
As you remember last week I had four new items in my Avon Haul, Eladia CZ Ring Set, Super Extend Extreme Mascara, Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub and a True Color Duo in Gold Goddess. None of these items were fails to me (YAY). I did have an issue with the True Color Duo, it seems as though you have to use a lot of product to get the color to show on your eyes, but other than that, I love this duo! The Clearskin Scrub is amazing, it smells of mint and when you put it on your face you get the same feeling you get when you wear mint lip balm, except it's all over your face lol. I feel like this scrub gets my face super clean and it does not leave me with that tight dry feeling that some scrubs leave you with and it makes my face feel really soft and smooth. I'm really liking the Super Extend Extreme

Friday Favorites
Here are my favorites for this week :)
1. ELF Golden Bronzer. I feel like this gives my face just a hint of color with out looking all weird. I do wish that it didn't have shimmer in it though.
2. Physicians Formula Healthy Wear tinted moisturizer with SPF50. I love this stuff, it's super easy to apply, I just use my fingers. It lasts on my face all day and gives me good coverage.
3. My favorite fragrance this week has been Moonlight Path by Bath & Body Works. This is probably my favorite scent from there.
4. This week I have still been using my Wet n Wild Silent Treatment trio. It's such a great trio!
5. For my eye shadow base I have been using Avon's Cool Bliss eye shadow in Pebble Stone. This is kind of like a cream shadow and when you apply it to your eyes it leaves them feeling cool and refreshed. I think it's the perfect base for the Wet n Wild Silent Treatment Trio. Really makes the eye lid color pop.
6. Still loving my Mark Scanda-Lash mascara.
7. For my lips this week I have been loving my Wet n Wild Megashield lip color in Birthday Suit.

Avon Haul Campaign 12
My Avon shipment finally came, so I can get this post up. Better late than never I guess :)
This campaign I only ordered four items. First up I got the Eladia CZ Ring Set, it is a beautiful 2 piece set. Love it already! Next I got the Super Extend Extreme Mascara, love the yellow tube it comes in, will let you know what I think about the product it's self next Thursday. I also got Clearskin Pore Penetrating Invigorating Scrub. I've been looking for something to exfoliate my skin, hopefully this will work. It smells like peppermint and I LOVE minty things :) Last but not least I got a True Color Duo, I love the quads and they recently came out with the duos so I thought I'd try those too. I got the Gold Goddess Duo, it's just as the name says 2 golden colors.
I will be trying these products out over the next week and come back on Thursday to find out which ones I liked and which ones I didn't.

Kind of makes me wonder why it looks 'stringy' :/
Has a Golden incandescent look to it
