Favorites: April

I'm back with my April Favorites, better late than never :)

Almost everyday in April I used my MUA Heaven and Earth Palette. I love this palette mostly because it's neutral colors. There are so many different ways that you can wear this palette and the colors are absolutely beautiful!

I have also went back to using my CoverGirl BB Cream. I feel like this product really does smooth out the way my skin looks and for a lack of better words blurs out all the stuff you don't want to show up. I also like it because it is very light weight.

I have also been using my Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment. I have been loving this type of product for my hair for a few months now, I was using a different brand, but I feel like they both do the same thing for my hair, make it look soft and shiny. The smell is amazing too!

I have been using a new toner which is now one of my favorites. I was using the toner that comes with the proactive set, and when I ran out I found L'Oreal Hydrafresh Toner, I feel like it works as well as the one I was using before. Leaves my face feeling hydrated.

I like my Gud by Burt's Bees so much that I picked up from Big Lots for $2 so much that I am still kicking myself for not picking up more of these! First the smell is great and it leaves my skin feeling super duper soft and smooth. Absorbs quickly too and does not leave you feeling greasy.

Last but not least is a mascara from Avon that found it's way to the bottom of my mascara basket and then I tried it again and it has been working well for me this past month. It is their Super Magnify mascara, I find that name to be comical because of what the brush looks like:
See... such tiny bristles, but it does work pretty good. Does a good job at grabbing each individual lash.

December Favorites

This month I had quite a few favorites, so let's just jump right on in!

Face Favorites:
This month a foundation made it's way on to my favorites list, simply because I have not been able to wear foundation lately, until I was introduced Loreal Youth Code Serum. With that being said, obviously the Youth Code Serum is one of my favorites this month. Revlon Color Stay foundation has been my go to foundation this month. I really like the coverage I get from it. Cover Girl CG Smoothers Tinted Mositurizer is also on my favorites list this month. I love using this when I'm in a hurry to get ready or when I only want very light coverage. I have also really been loving my Milani Illuminating face powder in Amber Nectar, gives a nice hint of color to my pale skin.
Eye Favorites:
This month I have really stuck to a quick and natural looking eye. Staring off with Avon's eye shadow primer, review coming soon. Then I'll take my Milani shadow eyes in champagne toast and cover my lid. Then I've been using the crease shade out of the Wet n Wild Walking on Eggshells trio, for my crease shade. Then using Wet n Wild's single shadow in the shade brulee as my highlight color. Lastly I would use my TheBalm Mary-Lou Manizer to brighten up the inner corners of my eyes.

My favorite eye liner this month was my Sumita contrast eye pencil and my favorite mascara has been my Kiss i-Envy.
Lip Favorites:
My go to lip products this month have been my peppermint Baby Lips and my two Model Co Shine Ultra lip glosses.
Hair Favorites:
I had a couple of hair favorites this month. First up Not Your Mother's Smooth Moves, I can not get enough of this stuff! I have also been using Tresemme heat tamer spray when I flat iron my hair. I used to not use a heat protectant but I've been heat styling my hair a lot more lately so I thought I should start using one.

Other Favorites:
My favorite fragrance this month has been Paris Amour from Bath & Body Works. It was an early Christmas gift from my friend :) I have also been loving my Vita Moist hand cream that I got from Avon. I have a few tubes scattered about the house, so there is one around when ever I need it.

How Much Is My Face Worth?

This is another tag type post that I have seen on some blogs before and I thought it would be fun to do. Basically you do your make up, list all the items that you used with the prices, and add them all up and that is how much your face is worth!

Today I used the following products on my face:
Loreal Youth Code Serum (Yep, could not live without it LOL) $19.97
Olay Complete Moisturizer $9.47
Avon Extra Lasting Foundation $12.50
Avon Eyeshadow Primer $3.99
Milani Shadow Eyez Shadow Pencil $6.99
Milani Runway Eyes Shadow #15 Golden Touch $6.99
Milani Eye Tech Extreme Liquid Liner $7.49
Milani Total Lash Cover Mascara $4.99
Milani Crystal Gloss for Lips $4.99
Milani Illuminating Face Powder $8.99
Grand Total: $86.37

It amazed me that my face was worth that much! How much is your face worth?

Wishlist Wednesday: Loreal Youth Code

I have been having a terrible time trying to wear foundation over the last year or so. It seemed like every time I would put on foundation I would get really bad dry patches of skin right around my cheek bone area, and overall my skin just looked dry and dull. I thought I needed a different kind of foundation, so after trying three different kinds I just started wearing Cover Girl Tinted Moisturizer, because that was the only thing I could wear that did not make my face look dry. I mention that to a fellow beauty blogger the other day and she suggested trying a serum and recommended Loreal Youth Code. I headed to my sample drawer (we all have one lol) luckily I had one small sample packs of it! Oh my goodness what a difference it has made for my skin, I can wear foundation again! After just one time using it my skin felt so much smoother and more hydrated. It's a little pricey for me at $20 from Walmart, but I feel like it would be $20 well spent. I also think that it would last for a good while, I mean I got 8 uses out of the tiny sample pack pictured below.

What's on your wishlist today?

Target Beauty Bag: Fall 2012

I was excited to see that my Fall Target beauty bag was in my mailbox, but when I opened it I wasn't so excited anymore. I love the bag! It feels kind of like plastic and rubber and is textured to look like fur. That's pretty much where the excitement stopped for me. Inside the bag were the following samples: Pixi Flawless Beauty Primer, Clear scalp and hair therapy shampoo and conditioner, Fekkai shea butter moisturizing shampoo and conditoner, Jergens Daily moisture lotion and Loreal EverCreme sulfate-free moisture system shampoo, conditioner and deep nourishing masque. There was also the coupon book that comes with all the beauty bags.

I heard that this would be the last Beauty Bag from Target, so I guess I thought they would go out with a bang, so to speak, and fill it with something better.

Did you get a Fall Target Beauty Bag? What did you think of it?

Tired to get a close up shot to show the texture

Target Beauty Bag 2012

I was lucky enough to score one of Target's Beauty Bags when they were offering them on their Facebook page! I love getting these because you get a super cute cosmetics bag and a few new products to try out. This years bag is just as good as the other 2 that I have received in past years. First off the bag makes me think

Target Beauty Bag

The other day I recived my FREE Beauty Bag from Target! It was full of great goodies (see pic below).

It came in this adorable little cosmetic pouch. The pouch contained a coupon book with $20 worth of savings, a sample  of L'oreal Youth Code, a sample of John Freida Full Repair shampoo and conditioner, a sample of Garnier Fructis Pure Clean shampoo and conditioner, a sample of Tresemme Naturals shampoo and conditioner, a sample of Burt's Bees Radiance daily moisturizer, and a sample pack of Pond's Evening Soothe wet cleansing cloths.

So far I have only tried out the Pond's cloths and I absolutely love them! They remove all your make-up and smell great!

Review on The One Sweep Eye Shadow

I honestly do not like this product. I can see the point behind it, which is to be able to get your lid color, crease color and highlight on at one time, using only one brush, in this case a specially shaped applicator.
I tried using this product several times. The first time I only got product on my lid. The next few times I used it I got all three areas; lid, crease and highlight, but I wanted the colors to be a little darker and tried to go back over it and totally messed up what I had already done.
I don’t think that you can make a specially shaped applicator to fit everyone’s eyes. We all have differently shaped and sized eyes, so I just don’t see how it could possibly work the way it was designed to.
I did find 2 pros for this product; it has great color choices and the pigmentation is awesome!
I will continue to use this eye shadow, but I will use my own brushes with it.
