Haul: Collective Avon

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

It has been a while since I have shared items that I've purchased from Avon with y'all, so I am doing a collective haul of the items I have got over the last few campaigns. All but two of the products are brand new items Avon has came out with in the last month or so. I will tell you my first impressions of the products then do a review on them later on after I have used them a little more.

Up first we have Skin So Soft Aroma Therapy 48 hour moisturizer. I got one in each of the available scents, Energizing and Calming. So far I really like these the few times that I have used them.

Next we have a new line of face products from Avon called Avon Elements. I purchased the Avon Elements Moisture Boost, a daily facial moisturizer. I think it does a great job of moisturizing and I also really like the scent it has. I also picked up one of the Skin So Soft roll on deodorants, I have been selling Avon for 7 years now and this is the first one of these that I have tried!

I also picked up another Brushed Metals polish, this one is in the shade Lilac Quartz, but it looks so much like the Textured Topaz one that I featured on the blog. Not very happy with the fact that they look way too much alike. In the brochure this one actually looks like a lilac color. Avon has also came out with their own version of a flakie polish called Opal Top Coat. I'm not sure how I feel about this product yet, I'm going to have to test it quite a bit more before I make a final decision.

Looks gorgeous in the bottle!
Lilac Quartz; Does this look lilac at all?
Lastly I picked up a couple eye products, the first one is a GlimmerSticks Eyeliner in the shade Nocturnal. The best way I can describe this color is a grayish purple. I also got one of the Extra Lasting eye shadow pencils in the shade Topaz Shimmer, and I'm not too happy with it, only because in the book it is shown as a light taupe color and what I got looks nothing like that, it's actually a coppery brown.

Review: Sumita Contrast Eye Pencil

The Sumita contract eye pencil is made of a soft was formula that is supposed to go on smooth to create clean lines. It can also be smudged to smokey perfection. Also claims that it won't tug or pull and that it is long lasting.

My overall experience with this eye pencil has been pretty good. I had some doubts about it early on because when I swatched the liner on my hand it did tug and pull some. I also had problems using it to line my upper lash line, because it tugged so much. I also notice that I had a hard time applying it after I had applied my eye shadow, it was like it did not want to glide at all across my lid with the eye shadow on there. However this eye pencil worked great for 'tightlining' my upper lash line, which is something that I have been doing a lot lately, and it worked great on the waterline. It really does have amazing staying power.

You can get the Sumita contrast eye pencil from Birchbox for $11.00. I could not find a website for Sumita where you buy products directly from them.

First swatch was lightly rubbed, 2nd swatch was rubbed extra hard. If I had waited a little longer before I rubbed it it would not have smudged as much.

Haul - Rite Aid

I love Rite Aid, can you tell? It's the only place that I can find Sinful Colors in my area LOL. I posted a Haul the other day from Rite Aid, but I had to go back and take advantage of the 40% sale they were having on Wet n Wild products.

On my second trip I purchased

Avon Haul Favorites and Fails

Last weeks Avon Haul was pretty much split down the middle with good products and not so good products.

My favorites from last week are the Social Stackable Ring Set and the Silvertone Floral Cuff Bracelet. I have wore these pieces numerous times over the last week and always get compliments on them. Another favorite from last week is the eye liner brush from Mark, works great to clean up the nail polish that gets on the edges of my fingers.

The fails from last week were both total fails, very disappointed with the following items. The lip tint was terrible, to me it would have been okay if it was not loaded down with shimmer. I don't know about you, but I don't like to have glitter all over my lips. The next fail for me was the Avon 24k gold mascara in the shade golden brown. I don't like super wet formulas for my mascara, but this mascara was BONE dry! Worst mascara I have ever purchased! The final fail from last week is the Super Extend liquid eye liner in the shade brown. It faded pretty bad on me and it did not go on very dark at all, definitely prefer the pencil liners over this liquid liner.

Two products that I have not used from my haul are the Glimmersticks Chrome eye liner in electric pink and the Nailwear Pro+ in Berry Smooth, so I can't offer any type of review/opinion on them. When I do get around to using them I'll let you know what I think of them.

Did you have any 'Fail' products this week? What were they?

Winner Mail!

Over Thanksgiving I entered a contest that KISS was hosting on their Facebook page and I won a 2nd place prize pack!! I was super excited that I had won. So I received my prize pack the other day and was beyond excited about the goodies that I got!

I got a few coupons for KISS products, a brush on lip gloss (which I LOVE because it has menthol in it and I love a minty lip product!), False lashes and adhesive  ever lasting french tip nails, rhinestone nail art, eye liner and mascara!

And to be honest I did not even know that KISS made make up products! I thought they were just nails!!

So thanks so much to KISS! I will be trying out all these products and will be giving you  reviews on them.
