Haul: CVS Clearance Sale

Y'all know how I love my beauty products on a budget and one of the best place to stock on on some products or try 'new' products that are to expensive when not on sale, is the 50-75% off sale at CVS. This sale is held twice a year, usually spring and fall, and if I have some extra money I try to shop it!

I had posted previously about a few polishes that I had found at this sale, this post is my last CVS sale post for this particular sale.

First up are some nail polishes that I got. I picked up another one of the Maybelline Color Show Shredded polishes in the shade Purple Possibilities, a Sally Hansen Crackle in Wave Break, a Spoiled polish in the shade Mind Your Own Beeswax, and a Maybelline Color Show Metallic polish in the shade Blue Blowout.

Left to Right: Sally Hansen Crackle Wave Break, Color Show Purple Possibilities, Color Show Blue Blowout, Spoiled Mind Your Own Beeswax
I also got a few new lip products, I figured this sale would be a great time to re-stock my lip drawer since I had recently cleaned out all of my older products. I picked up a Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in the shade Porcelain Pink. Cover Girl natureluxe gloss balm in the shade Grenache. Milani Crystal lip gloss in the shade Fruit Punch, and two Revlon Super Lustrous Lip glosses, pink whisper and peach petal. I will have a follow up post with in the next couple of weeks with swatches of these lip products :)

Break down of the great deals I got from this sale:
Maybelline Color Show Polishes: Original Price $ 4.19 each I paid $ 2.09 each
Sally Hansen Crackle:  Original Price $7.49 I paid $ 1.87

Wet N Wild Hot Rocks Collection

Happy Friday! I went out to another one of my local CVS' to check out the big 50-75% off sale and stumbled upon some beautiful new nail polishes from Wet n Wild. It's a collection called Hot Rocks, it's a line of nothing but gorgeous glitters! There are six colors available, if you are interested in seeing all six check out Nouveau Cheap's post, and they are only $1.99 each! I only picked up two of them, Rocking Rubies and Caught on Sapphire.
Rocking Rubies is just that, it looks like crushed up rubies in a bottle, oh my gosh it's so pretty! It has big circle glitters and some tiny glitters, both red, in a clear base. Caught on Sapphire has the same round larger looking glitters, but it also has a bluish/purple iridescence to it, set in a clear base.

I have swatched each of these polishes alone, over white and over black.

I have to talk about this too, hanging on the display for these nail polishes was a tag that said buy one get on 50% off, one of the main reasons I picked up two of them. When the lady was ringing up my items I asked her if it took half of one of the bottles and she said no, I told her about the tag I had seen, so she went and checked. She said the sign was old, but she was nice enough to actually refund me the money for one of the nail polishes and not just the half I should have got off, but the entire $1.99. So always make sure that your items are ringing up properly.

Gorgeous right? Have you seen these at your CVS?

Review: Milani Illuminating Face Powder

Milani Illuminating Powder
Milani Illuminating Powder is an ultra smooth, multi-color blush, bronzer, and highlight, that gives skin a hint of color. It can be used as a highlighter for a brighter complexion with a lit-from-within radiant glow. You can also use it as a bronzer or blush for an instant healthy sunkissed finish. The illuminating powder comes in three shades; Amber Nectar- a natural coral, Hermose Rose- a natural tan, and Beauty's Touch Pink. All three have a pearl finish, that gives your skin some sheen.

I have loved this illuminating powder since the first time I tried it. It gives me a nice hint of color with out being too dark or too shimmery. I feel like this is a product that would be suitable for me in the winter as well as in the summer, since I tend to be a little on the pale/fair side.

I really love the cute flower design on the product and I think the packaging is very nice also, seems very sturdy. The only thing that I have found that I don't like is after I used this product for a little while little 'bumps' developed on the product and I felt like I was not picking up as much product on my brush, so I rubbed my finger over the little 'bumps' and they sort of went away and I was able to pick a better amount of the product up on my brush. I'm not sure why it does that, the packaging does say for best results use a kabuki style brush, which I never noticed till I begin gathering my information for my review. I've just been using ELF's complexion brush, so maybe I'll try it with a Kabuki brush and see if that helps.

Pretty Flower Design
The little 'bumps'
I can't really compare this product to anything else other than ELF's golden bronzer. I feel like it gives the same effect as ELF's bronzer but with far less shimmer, which for me is a huge plus. It is kind of pricey at $8.99, but I think I would repurchase this product. You can purchase this at your local CVS.

Below are a couple of pictures where I have use the illuminating powder.

Mini CVS Haul

I checked out the clearance sale that CVS is having the other day and picked up a few items. My CVS did not have a ton of things on clearance like I thought they would.

I got one of the Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor polishes in the shade One Big Happy Fame-ily. Love this color, it's a light lavender color with some silver shimmer.

I also picked up a couple single Wet n Wild eye shadow singles. They were marked 50% off. I picked up one that I've heard a lot about, Brulee and one that I've not heard anything about, Golddigger. I've not got the chance to try these out yet.

Did you pick up any goodies at the CVS sale?

Mini Shop and Show

Oh my goodness, I am so flipping happy that I went out to CVS today! Found a great deal on a set of Wet n Wild Megalast polishes! I also picked up a bottle of Spoiled's Ants In My Pants polish and a Wet n Wild eye shadow single in Nutty. I've tried several of their trios and pallets so I thought I'd give the singles a go. I also picked up some VO5 shampoo and conditioner for $.75 a bottle!

I also picked up a couple items from Rite-Aid,

Great Deal at CVS

I have been looking for the Wet 'n Wild Mega Shield lip stick in the shade Birthday Suit for a while now and I finally found one at my local CVS and boy did I get a great deal on it! Currently CVS is having a sale on Wet 'n Wild products 2 for $3. The lipstick is normally $1.99, which is not a bad price to start with, so with the sale it would have been $1.50, but there was a coupon to save $1!! So in the end I scored the lipstick for only $.60!!

If you are like me and you love Wet 'n Wild products head out to your local CVS! The 2 for $3 sales ends on April 28th! If you already took advantage of this sale, what items did you pick up?
