Review: Milani Illuminating Face Powder

Milani Illuminating Powder
Milani Illuminating Powder is an ultra smooth, multi-color blush, bronzer, and highlight, that gives skin a hint of color. It can be used as a highlighter for a brighter complexion with a lit-from-within radiant glow. You can also use it as a bronzer or blush for an instant healthy sunkissed finish. The illuminating powder comes in three shades; Amber Nectar- a natural coral, Hermose Rose- a natural tan, and Beauty's Touch Pink. All three have a pearl finish, that gives your skin some sheen.

I have loved this illuminating powder since the first time I tried it. It gives me a nice hint of color with out being too dark or too shimmery. I feel like this is a product that would be suitable for me in the winter as well as in the summer, since I tend to be a little on the pale/fair side.

I really love the cute flower design on the product and I think the packaging is very nice also, seems very sturdy. The only thing that I have found that I don't like is after I used this product for a little while little 'bumps' developed on the product and I felt like I was not picking up as much product on my brush, so I rubbed my finger over the little 'bumps' and they sort of went away and I was able to pick a better amount of the product up on my brush. I'm not sure why it does that, the packaging does say for best results use a kabuki style brush, which I never noticed till I begin gathering my information for my review. I've just been using ELF's complexion brush, so maybe I'll try it with a Kabuki brush and see if that helps.

The little 'bumps'
I can't really compare this product to anything else other than ELF's golden bronzer. I feel like it gives the same effect as ELF's bronzer but with far less shimmer, which for me is a huge plus. It is kind of pricey at $8.99, but I think I would repurchase this product. You can purchase this at your local CVS.

Below are a couple of pictures where I have use the illuminating powder.

  1. Looks great :) I haven't tried a lot of Milani products but I like the idea of a multi-colored pan, I feel like those give a much more natural glow.

  2. The "bumps" are areas that have collected oil, and hardened. You can wipe you palette every couple weeks with an alcohol pad to avoid it. Wipe lightly! :)
