Lime Accent

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I am loving those two Bleached Neons I was able to find at Big Lots, I still really wish I could have found the rest of them! Today I have Lime Accent for you, it's neon, it's lime green and it looks as though it's been bleached.

I started out with one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, just to make it pop a little more, I followed that up with two coats of Lime Accent. It went on very smoothly, but it did seem to take a while to dry, so much in fact that I put a quick drying top coat over it just to speed up the process. After that dried I stamped a cool looking design on it, using stamping plate BP-50 from Born Pretty Store, and added another coat of my quick drying top coat.

I really love the way this came out, the black and lime go well together!

Checking another number off the #SBBNailChallenge with this mani, number 46 Favorite nail art technique! Stamping is by far my favorite thing to do to my nails and it's so easy anyone can master this technique with a little practice.

I'm working away at this untried pile of polish, I'll be back next week with another polish :)

Pink and White Chevrons

Happy Friday everyone!! Today I have a fun and easy nail look for you!

I used the Kiss Nail Guides that I hauled the other day, Fing'rs nail polish in the shade Don't Even Pink About it, Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Cosmic Dust from Salon Perfect.

I started out with painting two coats of Snow Me White on my ring fingers and applying two coats of Don't Even Pink About It on all my other fingers. The first coat of DEPAI was really streaky, but applying a second coat evened everything out nicely. Once my coats of Snow Me White were dry I applied 2 of the smaller chevron guides to each of my ring fingers, then applied one coat of Don't Even Pink About It. I did not wait for that to dry before I peeled the guides off, everything went smoothly, no peeling of the paint or messing up the crisp lines. Once all those coats of polish were dry, I applied a coat of Cosmic Dust.

For those that have not heard of Cosmic Dust, it is a 100% Dupe for China Glaze's Fairy Dust! Here is a slightly out of focus shot to try to show the sparkle off some.

I really like the way this came out even though I dinged up my ring finger, it's simple yet really cute. Of course it being a neon it did chip pretty bad on my third day of wearing it, but I can live with that ;) Another interesting thing about this polish, even though it is neon, it does not dry 100% matte, it's more of a semi-matte.

Yay! Now I can check off #36 Pink from the #SBBNailChallenge

It's off to work for me! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Collective Nail Polish Haul

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Since I've been working I've been able to splurge a little more on random nail polishes more often, so today I have a nice little collective haul for y'all!

We'll start off with some polishes that I bought from Beauty By Krystal's Blog Sale. I seen she had Essence polishes on there so I snagged some of them up quickly, since I can not find them in my area. I got Aquatix Bay, Under the Sea, A Lovely Secret, Enchanted Fairy and Can't Cheat on me. I'd never heard of Orchid polish so I grabbed the one that caught my eye, Funky Monkey. The last two I got were both from Sinful Colors, Petal Be The Day and Prized Plume.

I picked up a few polishes from work too, 2 Broadway Nails regular polishes; Easter Annie and Sour Apple. Also picked up another one of the Gel Strong polishes for 'testing' purposes ;) in the color Where's Nemo.

At work we got a display for the Wet N Wild 2015 Silver Lake collection, but I don't think that the correct products are in it, because the polish I picked out of it, Bubblegum Pop appears to have been around for a while. In any case it's still pretty and I will wear it proudly. Found this Sinful Colors polish at Big Lots, it's Love Sprinkles, way to cute to pass up!

Also at Big Lots I finally found two of the Bleached Neons from Maybelline, Lime Accent and Bleached in Peach! I wish I could have found the rest of the set, but I'm happy with the 2 I was able to add to my collection.

I also did a little China Glaze shopping on Amazon, always find great polish deals on there! I got Hang-Ten toes, Beach Cruise-r, Ahoy and Flirty Tankini. I got all these for about $4.50 each, not a bad deal! Of course these are not true to color since they are pink toned and neon for the most part.

I can not remember if I have hauled these or not, but they are from Avon's Electric Shades collection for 2015; Hottie, Suacy, Reckless and Vibe. If these cooperate, they would make a beautiful water marble!

Found these cool Nail Edge Guides from Kiss and pump bottle at Walmart! I want to get another one of these to put regular nail polish remover in, so I'll quit using so much pure acetone on my nails.

Needless to say my untried pile is full again! Is there any polishes that y'all would like to see more than others? If so let me know and I'll move them up!

Hopefully I'll be back in the next day or so with a nail look using the Kiss Nail Guides ;)

Sinful Colors Thimbleberry

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Happy first day of April, I swear I feel like March just began and now it's gone! Anywho, today I have a springy nail look for you using Thimbleberry from Sinful Colors and some stamping plates from Born Pretty Store.

Let's take a closer look at the products I used; As mentioned above Thimbleberry from Sinful Colors, Black Heart from Sally Hansen, Iceberg from Avon's Gel Finish line, Born Pretty stamping plate BP-54, how cute are those little owls, and BP-50 I originally chose this plate because I really liked the heart pattern. You'll see below I used neither one of those images for this nail look.

When I was deciding what image(s) I wanted to use from these plates the flower in the center of BP-54 kept jumping out at me so I went with that one and attempted to make decals out of it. It worked really well, it was just very time consuming and the decal ended up being to big for my ring finger, but worked perfectly on my thumb. Next time I know to use a smaller image for decals! Once I got my flower decals made I found myself being drawn to the BP-50 plate by the leafy image on the top left, I thought leaves would tie in good with flowers, so I just went for it.

I'm quite please with the way it all came out, even the little hiccup I had with the decal being to big for my finger. I had thought about adding some Salon Perfect Cosmic Dust, but I didn't want to go overboard LOL

Have you ever made homemade decals from nail stamping plates?

The plates I used in this nail look are currently $2.99 on Born Pretty's website, you can save an additional 10% by using coupon code: SMBW10

Update on my job, I'm still loving it! It's more responsibility than I've ever had at a job and I was just kinda thrown into it. The last person that held that position said it took them 3 months before they were closing the store on their own, and I've only been there just a little over a week and was left to close the store on my own last night. I didn't have any major issues, so I'm gonna say it went pretty well ;) It helps to have such nice and helpful co-workers though!

Hope you all enjoy your day! Hope you are having some great spring weather!

Collective Nail Polish Haul & Update

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Where is this year going? I can't believe it is already March! Today I wanted to share a nail polish haul with y'all and an update as well.

My polish haul is a collective one from the past month or so, so let's start with that ;)

First up I finally found the NYC Strip Me Off base coat, I picked two of these up, but conveniently lost one last week when I went out of town. I also picked up a few Sinful Colors polishes, Ring the Belini, which I posted about already, Zest of Times (Rite Aid) and Thimbleberry (Big Lots). I purchased one of the new polishes from Avon, Reckless, I swatched it and based off the swatch I was not too thrilled with the formula but will give it another try. Lastly in this photo I picked up December to Remember from China Glaze while Sally's was having their additional 50% off Clearance sale. I have used this polish and really loved it, such a beautiful shade of blue with light pink reflects!

Found a couple more polishes at Sally's! Orly Steal the Spotlight and Finger Paints In the Monet. Lastly I found some polishes that I've wanted since they came out, but didn't want to pay what the stores were asking for them, but luckily for me Big Lots had some of them the last couple of times I was there! I'm talking about the Revlon Parfumerie polishes, I picked up Lavender Soap, Wintermint, African Tea Rose and Apricot Nectar. I could not get over how good African Tea Rose smelt, I was quite amazed that once the polish was on my  nails and fully dry, that it did not smell like nail polish at all! The scent was noticeable for the next few days, but only when I had my hands near my nose and it was  not an over powering smell. I hope the other three smell just as good!

And now for my update; I finally found a job, Thank God!! It is a retail setting so it's already going much better than the job I found last year. I'm still trying to work out a blogging schedule that will fit in with my job schedule as well as my Avon schedule and everything else that I need/want to do. Right now I'm thinking about posting on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. I should have 2 days off each week that will allow me to get posts wrote and then I can schedule them to post. I think once I get a new routine set things will fall in to place :)

I've also reached a goal on my blog, today's post is post number 500!

Hope you all enjoy your Monday!

Sinful Colors Ring the Belini

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I seen a swatch of Ring the Belini on Instagram and I just had to have it, luckily I was able to find it at a Rite Aid when I was out of town visiting with family.

Ring the Belini is from Sinful Colors Citrus Twist collection and was designed as a special top coat, but I found that it can be wore alone. It is a beautiful orange jelly with bits of orange glitters, sometimes these glitters, to me, give off a fuchsia color.  In my first swatch below I only have on Ring the Belini, I applied 3 thick-ish  coats. If you don't like seeing VNL (visible nail line) you may not want to wear this alone, as you can see in my swatch you can see my staining from Julep's Marion.

In this next swatch I used 2 coats of Sinful colors Clementine as my base then added one coat of Ring the Belini. I would wear this polish alone or on top of another color. I don't know how it would work over other colors, like black, but I will be testing it out over other colors.

I also picked up Zest of Times from this collection and will blog about it in the near future. I am going to use Ring the Belini as my Last Nail Purchase entry on the SBB Nail Challenge ;)

Valentine's Day Nails

Blogging from my phone today cause I wanted to show y'all my nail look that I had created for my anniversary and Valentine's Day, our anniversary is 4 days before. I am so happy with the way this came out! When I first got ready to do my nails I had picked out one stamping plate and two nail polishes, I ended up using three stamping plates and four nail polishes.

The polishes I used were Jamberry and Raspberry Sorbet from Duri Cosmetics, Snow Me White from Sinful Colors and Mer-Magical from Pure Ice. The plates I used were plate F11 from Born Pretty Store; it's one of those French tip plates, Mash-48 I'm pretty sure I got this off Amazon and the last plate is also from Born Pretty Store it is plate number QA91.

I used Raspberry Sorbet as my base color, I love these Duri polishes they dry super duper fast! On my ring finger I used the LOVE image from QA91 I made a 4 square checkerboard pattern using Jamberry and Snow Me White on the image, scraped it and then stamped it. I used the same technique for all the stamping in this nail look. I took the French tip plate and used the heart pattern and stamped my middle finger and also my thumb. After stamping I felt like there was too much 'blank' space between the stamp and the other part of my nail, so I filled that space in with Mer-Magical for a little bit of sparkle. For my little and index finger I used the Mash plate and stamped heart clusters.

I am seriously so in love with how this turned out! I don't think I have ever used more than one stamping plate for one nail look, but now that I have I will do that more often.

I hope y'all enjoyed this as much as I did!  Have a great rest of the weekend :)

Pink & Silver Chevron

I am currently out of town, but had a little down time while waiting on my sister to get home so she can color my hair, so I thought I would share with y'all my latest mani.

I'm kinda on the fence with this one. I started out with 2 coats if Sally Hansen Bubblegum Pink and waited for it to dry and I applied some chevron vinyls. Then I took a silver glittery polish from Sinful Colors which I think was called Charmed, I'll check when I get back home and update if needed. In any case it is a densely packed glitter with some small colored glitter, I mostly see pink which is why I paired it with the pink base. After I got the silver on I went to pull off the vinyls and I guess I didn't let my base dry enough and they pulled some of my polish off! To fix my mess up I took a small detail brush and painted a black line between the two polishes.

I'm still not that great at free handing things, but I guess it will do LOL I don't think that it's terrible, it's just different.

Hope you all are having a great day!

Christmas Nail Ideas

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I think I am finally on the mend from this sinus/ear infection! Once I did start feeling better all I wanted to do was my nails LOL and lets just say, I should not do my nails if I'm feeling the least bit out of it.

I wanted to work on some Christmas nail designs/ideas and I knew I had some Christmas decals from Born Pretty and I figured that would be the easiest thing to do to my nails. I had a great idea in my head but I don't think that it transferred over well from my head to my nails. So the first thing I did was start out with a white base (Avon Iceberg) then I did the 'saran wrap' technique on all but my accent nail, using Cherry Merry from Duri Cosmetics. On my accent nail I added a super cute Christmas tree from the Born Pretty decals. I think my issue with this is that it's a whole lot of red and just a hint of green. I'm thinking instead of using red for my other fingers I might should have used green. What do y'all think?

This next Christmas inspired mani is a very simple subtle look that can be created using any nude polish as a base and adding a red, gold, or green glitter to the top. Here I used Shore Bet from Pure Ice for my base and Sinful Colors Gilded for my glitter. It is a beautiful red and gold mix of glitter that gives a little bit of life to the nude polish. I think this would be great for a Holiday wedding or an office party where crazy nail polish is frowned upon.

I have a couple more Christmas themed manis in mind, but not sure if I will get around to doing them before Christmas. I will try my best though :)

Now I'm off to catch up on blogs that I read, I have almost 2 weeks of catching up to do!!

Waterfall Nails

I wanted to do a Thanksgiving themed mani, but didn't want to do turkeys, so I thought I would try out a new technique and do Waterfall Nails! I like the way these came out! I've had a few people tell me that they look like flames and I've had a couple tell me they look like Turkey tails :)

Waterfall nails is a super easy technique to do and is something that I will do again in the future. I'm thinking white nails with Neon 'falls'!

For this look I used Avon's Gel Finish polish in Mudslide for my base and used Sinful Colors Clementine, Revlon Delicious, Mark's Saffron and a Yellow for my 'falls'.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Anyone go out and hit the Black Friday sales today?
Tomorrow I'll be back with a super cute nail look :)

TIOT: Wet n Wild Deception

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

A while ago I picked up all the polishes from the Wet n Wild Street Art Collection and I have been trying to get them all tried out. This week I tried out Deception a gorgeous purple jelly! When I did my nails I wasn't really feeling a glittery look, so I took a different approach to the 'Jelly Sandwich', I did some stamping in between the jelly layers!

I started out with two coats of Deception, letting each one dry completely before moving on. Next I took my Konad Stamping plate M57 and Sinful Colors Snow Me White and stamped on the zebra pattern. Topped that off with one more coat of Deception and then some topcoat.

Just to look at it, it looks like I stamped with a lighter purple color, but it is in fact a jelly sandwich. I love love love this manicure and will be trying out some different stamping patterns and stamping colors with it in the future.

I seen this fun little nail polish quiz floating around and thought I would give it a try, basically you are trying to guess the correct color of a swatch, I was impress I got silver. Give it a try and let me know what you get.

Off to run some errands, but I shall return tomorrow with some 'polka dots'!

Memorial Day Nails

My plan was to get this up yesterday, but as we all know that did not happen LOL then I was goning to get it posted this morning before I headed out to the event I was attending and I just didn't have the time. Better late than never right :)

I used Cherry Merry and Lucky Strike fom Duri Cosmetics and Snow Me White from Sinful Colors. I painted all my nails, except for my ring fingers white, put down some striping tape and painted them again with Cherry Merry. I used a holographic Color Club polish for my stamping. I would tell you what plate I used, but I'm too tired (lazy) to get up and go see which one it was, if you really want to know let me know in the comments and I'll let you know ;)

I hope you all have had a great weekend! I will be back Monday with a look at the Spring Voxbox from Influenster!

Sinful Colors Tidal Wave

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

The other day I received a bottle of Sinful Colors polish in the mail from Pinchme. If you are not familiar with Pinchme here is what the site says about how it works:

"PINCHme gives you the unique opportunity to discover new products and try them for free. It's simple - you choose a product from one of our leading brands, and we then deliver it to your home or workplace for free. But be quick, we’ll reserve the products in your box for a limited time, to ensure that everyone has a chance of receiving the available products. Once you've tried, tasted or touched the exciting products we offer, you can leave your feedback. Start pinching now!"

The polish that I received was called Tidal Wave. When I first seen this in the bottle I didn't think I was going to like it at all, but once I got it on my nails, it's really pretty. It's a very pale sky blue, applies smoothly and dries quickly.

I wanted to add a little bit of sparkle to this so I topped it with Color Club's Starry Temptress Topcoat, but It didn't really give off much sparkle. I don't know if that is because that topcoat was designed to work with the Starry Temptress polishes, guess I'll find that out soon ;)

So when that failed I grabbed one of the new Pure Ice polishes I picked up from Walmart called Sparkling Seas from the Sparkling Seas Collection. Not really much of a collection if you ask me, it only has 3 shades. Anywho, these polishes are glitters with a slightly tinted base. The one I used today has a blue tinted base and I think it looks lovely over Tidal Wave.

Still not very sparkly, but I think it's okay. I'll do a more in-depth review of the Sparkling Seas Collection soon.

My post tomorrow will probably be rather late, Saturday hubby and I are headed to a motorcycle event for Veterans and I want to do a nice red, white and blue mani for the weekend!

Easy Splatter Mani

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I love the look of a splattered mani, but I can't ever seem to create one that I like, so I got these really cool 3D nail stickers from the Born Pretty Store to try out and review. You get quite a few splatters in yellow, orange, pink and green. When I saw them online I saw my mani flash before my eyes, okay maybe not flash before my eyes, but I knew what I wanted to do with them.

Since these stickers are so bright I thought white would be the perfect background for them, so I pulled out Snow Me White from Sinful Colors and applied 2 coats to even out the streaks. White polish always streaks with me, does it with anyone else?

After my nails had fully dried I got out my tweezers and started randomly applying them, all I had to do was just rub them a little bit and they were good to go! These are a little bit thicker than a water decal and a lot less messy to work with, no need for water since they are stickers. I also think that you could apply them with out using tweezers if you wanted to.

I think a thick layer of top coat is necessary, at least for me, cause you can feel the edges of the stickers and I was afraid they might start to peel off if I didn't have a good layer of top coat. I applied one layer of my NYC quick drying topcoat then applied a layer of Sally Hansen Double Duty Base and Top Coat. I've had them on for about 3 or 4 days now and they still look good, no issues with them at all.

I really like these, I've gotten quite a few compliments on them! They are just really unique and fun to play with. You can find these on the Born Pretty Store website and they are only $1.59 plus you can save 10% with Coupon Code: SMBW10 and as always free shipping!

Color Club, Sinful Colors & Stamping

I am so over the winter weather and the other day I did a manicure to reflect that. I picked some bright colors that made me think of spring.

Let me apologize for the quality of the photos, I had to take them on my phone because my actual camera was having no part of them, I think it secretly loves winter.

I started off with Sinful Colors Snow Me White, so my nameless Color Club polish, (that we now know is called East Austin, Thanks Lizzy) would pop! I want to call this a neon coral, would look gorgeous on tan skin. I think the It's Real 18k Top Coat would look good over this too, need to try that out.

I then used Sinful Colors Mad About Hue as my stamping polish. The plate that I used was Cheeky Plate CH40, it has super cute designs on it! I found this on Amazon, but not directly from Cheeky.

I really loved the final result:

Super short post for today, I think Mother Nature took note of my mani and gave me some spring like weather! Yesterday was gorgeous, sunny and near 80! This morning however it's currently 8:25, 56 degrees and we are having a thunderstorm, go figure LOL

Hope you all have a fabulous day and don't for get to check out the Giveaway!
