Review: Kiss Everlasting French Nails

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I have a love hate relationship with the Kiss Everlasting French Nails, I have used them a couple times before and  it was nice to receive them in the Spring Fling VoxBox from Influenster.

Super easy to use and apply, clean your nails then match up the nails to your nails for the correct fit using the numbers on the tabs, dab on some glue and press them on. You'll have red carpet fingers in no time!

The nails are great quality and not all that expensive, around $5-$6 at Walmart. I love how these have the little number tabs that you can tear off once you've applied them. Those tabs make it so easy to find the correct fit for you nails, unlike some nails that you have to turn over and squint to see the tiny number. They come with several different sizes, so I feel these would work well for almost everyone. I really like how natural these look once you have them on, very pretty look.

Now to the part I don't like about these nails, the glue. I hate using the glue because it always wrecks my nails and I tend to loose a nail within a day or two of applying them. I would much rather use the ones that have the sticky 'glue' already applied to them, like the imPress nails from Broadway. But I have to admit they look so great on. I will also admit that I did not use the glue that came with these for this review, I used some sticky tabs that I got with another nail kit. Didn't see the point in wrecking my nails again since I have used these in the past.

I think these nails would be great for a special occasion such as a wedding or even prom. Have you tried the Kiss Everlasting French nails? If not would you?

Spring Fling VoxBox Misses

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I'm usually pretty happy with all the products that I receive in my VoxBox's from Influenster but this one I've already got three products that are misses for me.

First up the one I had high hopes for, Softlips Cube. Love the packaging, it's so cute and sleek, but the product is just okay. Softlips Claims it's their advanced 5-in-1 formula and it provides a luxurious blend of lip perfecting ingredients like Shea Butter, Antioxidant Vitamins A, C & E, plus SPF to make lips feel soft, smooth, hydrated and protected while adding a light touch of shine.

The only thing out of their claim that I agree with is it adds a light touch of shine. My lips did not feel moisturized or hydrated at all, within 10 minutes of applying this I was reaching for my Carmex lip balm. Sadly as cute as it is, it's just not a product for me.

Moving right along, the Playtex tampons, I don't use tampons so that is the only reason this product was a miss for me. However, I did run across an article the other day online, before I received my box, about using tampons to remove the polish on your toes so you don't mess up the polish on your fingers. So when I got my box and seen these, I thought I would give that method a try. It's not the greatest method in the world, but if you are in a pinch it will work with a little bit of effort.

The last product that was a miss for me right off the bat out of this VoxBox was the Peach Pie car freshener from the Labor Day Movie, it smells kind of like peaches but not that much, it is a very faint smell. I'm not a big fan of car fresheners anyways, so I did not have high hopes for this one.

Hoping for better results from the mascara! Anyone else get this box? Any misses for you?

Spring Fling Influenster VoxBox

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

It has been a while since I have received a VoxBox from Influenster, last one was July of 2013! So I was super excited to see that I would be receiving the Spring Fling VoxBox! Today I'm going to be showing you what came in the box and telling you just a little bit about it. I will be testing out the products over the coming weeks and will have full reviews on them at a later date.

First up we have Rimmel London Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara, retails for $5.99 Supposed to give you a bold wide-eyed look, fanned out volume with no clumps!

Kiss Everlasting French Nails, retails for $6.49 I have used these before and like them, but I prefer the nails that don't require the use of glue.

Also got a Peach Pie car freshener from the Labor Day Movie. When I first seen this I automatically thought apple pie, but I was wrong :) The other side is a dark blue and says Labor Day.

I was also sent a box of Playtex Sport Fresh Balance tampons, retails for $3.99-4.99

I love trying out new lotions, so I was happy to see a bottle of Nieva Skin Firming Hydration Lotion in the VoxBox! Says in as little as 2 weeks you'll see firmer more toned skin. This retails for $2.49 for 2.5oz and $10.99 for 13.5oz

I was also one of the select influensters that received a Softlips Cube, this retails for $3.49. Supposed to be a 5-in-1 lip care product. I got it in Pomegranate Blueberry, it also comes in Fresh Mint and Vanilla Bean.

Did you get the Spring Fling VoxBox?

I hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend! I had a blast hanging out at the motorcycle event for veterans. I may post some photos from that later this week :)

Review: Rimmel BB Cream

A few weeks ago I received a box from Influenster full of Rimmel products as a reward for unlocking a badge. In my box was three tubes of Rimmel's BB Cream and if you have been reading my blog for a while, you  may have noticed that I like to try out drug store BB Creams, so I was excited to see I had received a tube in each of the 3 shades that Rimmel offers; Light, Light Medium and Medium Dark, since my tan from summer has faded I opted to start trying out the Light shade.

Rimmel claims it's BB Cream is a 'skin perfecting super makeup' that primes, moisturizes, minimizes pores, conceals, covers, smooths, mattifies, brightens and helps protect. Claims it will last all day, is light weight and has a 100% natural finish.

Overall I do like Rimmel's BB Cream, but some days I have a like/hate relationship with it and I've come to the conclusion it's either just my skin or maybe I applied to much because with this BB cream a little seems to go a long way. Some days when I wear it, it looks great other days it makes my face look really dry. I want to also note that I always use my moisturizer with this and all other BB creams that I have tried. I do like the amount of coverage I get from this BB cream and I feel like it really evens out my skin tone.

When I first apply the BB cream it leaves me with a dewy finish, although it claims that it mattifies. It's also a little bit greasy feeling after I apply it, but nothing horribly bad and that slightly goes away a little while after applying and that seems to be when it does kind of make my face look more matte. I honestly do not feel that it lasts all day, I feel touch ups would be necessary. During my testing period that and the occasionally dry looking application is really the only things I dislike about it.

Rimmel BB Cream Swatch
Rimmel BB Cream Blended In
Rimmel BB Cream Indoor Lighting
BB Cream Outdoor Lighting
Final thoughts: It's not a total fail for me and I will continue to use this BB cream and just set it with my ELF mist and set spray to reduce any dryness that may appear. I really love the price point on this BB Cream, Walmart has it for $5.47-$6.47 You get 1 fl. oz. of product.

Have you tried Rimmel's BB Cream? Any other drugstore BB Creams? Which ones have been your favorites?

Review: Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream claims that it will give you 24 hour hydration, a splash of sheer color  even out skin tone, refresh dullness and give you flawless looking skin. It is a skin perfecter with 6 skin perfecting benefits; refreshes, brightens, evens tone, hydrates  smooths, and protects. It also is a combination of a sun screen, with SPF 15 and a tinted moisturizer. Also claims that with just one use, skin will be left glowing and naturally even.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream only comes in 2 shades, fair to light and light to medium. You get 2.5 oz of product for $12.99 This BB cream has a nice scent to it, reminds me of the smell of sunscreen with a hint of something else, I just can put my finger on what that hint of something is. It's not a strong scent and once I apply it, I don't smell it anymore. The consistency of this BB cream is like that of a liquid foundation, but a tad thicker.

I'll be honest the first couple of times I used this, I did not like it, but I wanted to give it a fair chance and I'm glad I did, because now I love it! It is very hydrating on my skin, I can actually skip my normal moisturizer when I wear this. I don't feel that it offers much, if any, coverage, but it makes up for that by evening out my skin tone. It blurs out all the imperfections of my skin and just makes it look flawless and brighter. I think the condition of my skin has improved since I started using this, I feel like my skin tone looks better even when I am not wearing the BB Cream. It feels very weightless and refreshing on my skin, sometimes I forget I even have make up on.

I think this is a great product for the summer, when you want a nice natural look. This is the only 'foundation' I've been using and I just add a little bit of my NYC Sunny Bronzer for a pretty sunkissed look.

Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream retails for $12.99, which at first look seems a little expensive, but as I mentioned earlier you do get 2.5 oz of product, whereas, with other brands of BB cream you generally only get 1 oz of product This is a product that I would purchase myself. You can purchase the BB cream at Walmart or a drug store as well as the Olay Fresh Effects site or on Amazon.

Review: SinfulColors SinfulShine with Gel Tech

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

SinfulShine is a new product from SinfulColors with rich color and superb shine. Claims that the finish is 5X more gloss than a patent leather shoe! SinfulShine is available exclusively at Walgreen's for a limited time for $2.99 These are in the same type bottle as the regular line of Sinful Colors with the exception of the shiny silver top, which I love.

I received a bottle of SinfulShine from Influenster in my Sunkissed VoxBox in the shade Rendezvous. It's a beautiful mint green color, to me it looks a lot like, if not identical, to I Need a Refresh-Mint from Wet n Wild. I actually think that Wet n Wild is a little more shiny than the SinfulShine. You can judge for yourself in the photo below.

With the word Gel in the name of this polish, I expected the formula to be a little thicker than a regular polish, it is not. Seems to have the same consistency as a regular polish. It goes on very smoothly  and it took 2 coats to make it fully opaque. Drying time is pretty good, first coat took about 5-7 minutes to try and the second coat took around 10-12 minutes. It does have a shiny finish, I didn't apply a top coat in the photo below, but with that being said I find that the claim of it being 5X more glossy than a patent leather shoe does not hold up.

For me the wear of SinfulShine, with the shape my nails were in when I used it, was great. Usually I'm lucky if my manicures last one day with out chipping. With SinfulShine I got about 3 days wear out of it before it started chipping. I'm sure if my nails were not peeling, I would have got longer wear before it chipped.

I'm really pleased with this polish and I would pay and extra dollar for it just because it lasted so long before chipping. Hopefully I'll get to a Walgreen's, as the closest one is about and 45 minutes away, before these polishes are gone. I think they should make them permanent and put them in Rite Aid stores as well.

Sunkissed VoxBox

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

Just a short post today :)
I received my Sunkissed Voxbox from Influenster the other day and I wanted to share with you the items that came in it.

I got a pair of Dr. Scholl's For Her insoles for High Heels. I don't wear heels that often, but am looking forward to trying these out. They look like they would be super comfortable.

I also received a bottle of SinfulShine nail polish in the color Rendezvous, a beautiful minty green color. Reminds me a lot of I need a Refresh-mint from Wet n Wild's MegaLast line.

The last item I received is a product I'm very excited about, Olay Fresh Effects BB Cream. I've really been into BB creams lately and anxious to see how this on works out.

Did you receive the Sunkissed Voxbox?

Review: Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara

I was lucky enough to be one of the few that received a product so new, that it's not even available in stores
yet, from Influenster! It's the Rimmel Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara. I have been using this for about a month now and wanted to share my thoughts on it.

Rimmel claims that the Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara will enhance lashes beyond the limits for instantly longer and stronger lashes, conditions lashes, lash catching brush gives you perfect separation for a clump free look, lashes stay flexible, never stiff or brittle and that after 30 days lashes will appear longer, stronger and more numerous.

Lash Accelerator Endless has what Rimmel calls the Grow-Lash Complex of Procapil, Keratin, and Antioxidants. Its micro-fiber formula is what helps to keep lashes flexible.

Like I said, I have been using this mascara for about a month now and for the most part I like it. This mascara does enhance my lashes and makes them look longer, and even though Rimmel does not claim that this mascara will make lashes look fuller, I feel like mine look fuller when I apply the Lash Accelerator Endless. I can't get the brush to separate my lashes as much as I would like for it too, but this mascara does provided a clump free look. As far as the length or strength of my lashes when not wearing the mascara, I do not see a difference as of yet. I was really surprised by the fact that my lashes did still feel flexible after applying the mascara, even throughout the day my lashes still felt flexible. The formula of this mascara is a fairly wet one, which I like. I feel like it helps the mascara go on smoother. I have not experienced any flaking of the mascara, but I have notice a couple of times that I wore it, it has smudged on my lower lash area, but nothing a Q-tip wouldn't easily fix. Other than that, this mascara wears great and last all day long. It is not a waterproof formula so don't wear it if you plan on getting your face wet :)

Rimmel Lash Accelerator is currently not available for purchase, but according to their website, it will be available in July! Comes in Black and Extreme Black. Their website does not provide a price for this product and one was not provided through Influenster.

Sneak Peek: Rimmel

I wanted to give you a sneak peak today of a brand new mascara that Influenster sent me to try out and review. This mascara is so new that it is not even available in stores yet! It is from Rimmel and is called Lash Accelerator Endless Mascara.

My first thoughts are:

  • I LOVE the packaging. It's attractive and would catch my eye on the shelf at the store.
  • Wonder if it will do all it says it will.
I will be using this mascara over the next week or so and will give you a full run down of what this mascara is supposed to do and if it holds up to all it's claims!

Influenster: Palmolive Fresh Infusions

A few days ago I received a package from Influenster that contained THREE full-size bottles of Palmolive Fresh Infusions dish soap! I love trying new products weather it be beauty related or not and this was no exception.

Palmolive Fresh Infusions
Palmolive Fresh Infusions comes in three fragrances that are naturally inspired and combined with the cleaning power that you would expect from the Palmolive company. The fragrances are; Lime Basil, Lemon Thyme and Ginger White Tea. You can find this product at Walmart for around $2.96. When looking for a dish soap I want something that cleans my dishes well and is able to cut tough grease. I would prefer that it have a pleasant smell and for it not to be too harsh on my hands.

Here are my first impressions: All three of these smelled amazing! I gave the Ginger White Tea to my Mother-in-Law and kept the other two. I have been using the Lemon Thyme, because lately I have been loving lemon scents. I really like the packaging, I think it's sleek and the bottles have nice photos that represent the scents and looks real. Palmolive Fresh Infusions bottles do not look like any other dish soap bottles I've seen. It's a decent size bottle, you get 16 ounces of product. It cleaned my dishes very well, and worked great for cutting the grease from a pan that I used to fry burgers in. Creates a nice amount of suds with out having to use a ton of product. While the Palmolive Fresh Infusions did leave my hands feeling dry, it did not leave them feeling as dry as my other dish soap does.

Final thoughts, this is the first Palmolive product that I have tried and I love it! I may have just found my new dish soap!

Have you tried the Palmolive Fresh Infusions? What did you thing about it?

* I received these products for free from Influenster to try and review. All thoughts and opinions about these products are my own and 100% honest. *
