Essence Me & My Lover, Plus More

Happy Friday! Today I have Essence Me & My Lover, courtesy of Lizzy! Love, Love, Love this polish! It comes off as a pinky toned red, hope that makes sense, with gold and what looks to be fuchsia colored glitter. Know what makes it even better?? It's a texture polish, Long Live Textures! The sparkle on this polish is beautiful but my camera did not want to capture it. Didn't help that my regular camera hates any shade of red or pink so I had to use my phone for all the pictures in this post.

Application of this polish was flawless, dried super fast, as I have found with all the Essence polishes I have. I applied 2 thin-ish coats. You can see a hint of the sparkle on my pinky

Me & My Lover reminds me of Ruby Mine by Sinful Colors, it was in their Crystal Crushes collection, I'll do a comparison post in the near future.

Also wanted to show y'all what I have on my toes, because I,m loving it! I used 2 coats of Duri's Peach Buzz, from their Tutti Frutti Collection, and topped it with a coat of Mer-Magical from Pure Ice.

Warning: TOES for those of you that do not like feet/toes ;) so just scroll by really fast to the next part of this post.

Finally today a little Friday Fun! My hubby had all week off from work and he decided to play a little pratical joke on me. I always take my wedding rings off when I do the dishes and I have a habit of forgetting to put them back on as soon as I get done with the dishes, and get caught up in other chores around the house. Well yesterday my hubby locked them up and hid the key from me LOL

I did finally find the key and was able to release my rings! Such a jokester!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

NOTD: July 4th

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

Just a quick little post today. I wanted to share my July 4th mani with you. I attempted to make my nails a flag! I used Maybelline Color Show Navy Narcissist and stamped stars with Color Club Holo Cherubic, I really wanted to use white, but none of my whites would stamp good. For my other two fingers I first painted them with Milani's White on the Spot, used some scotch tape to make some stripes, and painted over that with Siren from Pure Ice.

Did you do a July 4th mani? Let me know in the comments below, I would love to see them.

Hope you all have a fabulous 4th!

And today is also my babies birthday! They are 4 :)

St. Patrick's Day Manicure

I decided to do a special manicure for St. Patrick's Day and loved the way it came out so I wanted to share it.

I used a NYC white cream for the base and used a fan brush to brush on some stripes. For my stripes I used a L.A Colors green and gold glitter.

Did you do a special manicure for St. Patrick's Day? If you did, leave me your link below, would love to see what you came up with.

Contest: Pure Ice

Over the past month Pure Ice has sent me several samples of their polish and I am so very thankful to them for doing that:) In the last set of polishes they sent me there was a beautiful blue/turquoise color called On His Saddle from their 2012 Holiday Collection. There was also a really pretty silver color called Ruffled Sheets, a velour finish from their Runway Collection.

We have been having really cold and snow weather where I live over the last couple of weeks and that inspired my latest mani, Snowflakes!

I used Ruffled Sheets as my base color and used On His Saddle for the snowflakes. I used a toothpick to draw the designs on my nails.

I also used this design to enter a contest that Pure Ice is hosting. #NailBasel #PureIce

This is another one of my entries, it was inspired by Christmas. I started off with Iced Merlot, a color that will be discontinued in 2013, as my base. Then I cut very thin pieces of tape and applied them to my nails and painted over them with Not Now, from the 2012 Holiday Collection. Made me think of wrapping paper.
For my final entry I used Ruffled Sheets as my base again. I used a makeup sponge to apply the color Twinkle, from the 2012 Holiday Collection. I have really been in to glitter polish lately and I just thought these two colors really complimented each other.

Halloween Manicure

Since it is almost Halloween I wanted my nails to reflect that, so I did my first 'tape manicure'. First I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Clementine, it took two coats to get it opaque. I let that dry completely, then I took regular household tape and cut 6 thin strips and place 3 on each nail of my ring finger in a criss cross type pattern. I then painted the nail with Black Out, by Pure Ice. I let that dry completely then I very carefully and slowly pulled the tape off to revel my cool looking nail look. I'm impressed with my Halloween manicure, mostly because it was, like I said, my first time using tape. I think I will be trying more 'tape manicures' in the future.

What do you think? Did you do a special nail look for Halloween?
