Pink and White Chevrons

Happy Friday everyone!! Today I have a fun and easy nail look for you!

I used the Kiss Nail Guides that I hauled the other day, Fing'rs nail polish in the shade Don't Even Pink About it, Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Cosmic Dust from Salon Perfect.

I started out with painting two coats of Snow Me White on my ring fingers and applying two coats of Don't Even Pink About It on all my other fingers. The first coat of DEPAI was really streaky, but applying a second coat evened everything out nicely. Once my coats of Snow Me White were dry I applied 2 of the smaller chevron guides to each of my ring fingers, then applied one coat of Don't Even Pink About It. I did not wait for that to dry before I peeled the guides off, everything went smoothly, no peeling of the paint or messing up the crisp lines. Once all those coats of polish were dry, I applied a coat of Cosmic Dust.

For those that have not heard of Cosmic Dust, it is a 100% Dupe for China Glaze's Fairy Dust! Here is a slightly out of focus shot to try to show the sparkle off some.

I really like the way this came out even though I dinged up my ring finger, it's simple yet really cute. Of course it being a neon it did chip pretty bad on my third day of wearing it, but I can live with that ;) Another interesting thing about this polish, even though it is neon, it does not dry 100% matte, it's more of a semi-matte.

Yay! Now I can check off #36 Pink from the #SBBNailChallenge

It's off to work for me! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Don't Even Pink About It & Kaboom

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I hope you all had a great weekend! Hubby had to work all weekend so I just watched Law & Order: SVU on Netflix then had crazy dreams because I watched to many episodes :/

Today I have a two-fer for ya! Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Don't Even Pink About It and Salon Perfect's Kaboom. Fing'rs sent Don't Even Pink About It for me to try out and I picked up Kaboom at Walmart a few months ago, it was the only one like it and I could not find any other colors of this particular kind of polish.

Don't Even Pink About It is a hot pink cream polish that dries to a semi-matte finish. This polish was super easy to work with, applied like a dream, no dragging or anything. It did dry pretty fast, even the nails that I did thicker coats on. I think this is a great color on it's own, especially for the Summer time, it would look so great on the toes! I wanted to add a little something to it so I dug out Kaboom, Kaboom has a clear base with teeny tiny yellow and blue circle matte glitters. When this polish dries it does have some texture to it, apparently it was part of their Neon Collision collection. That collection had 6 colors in it, wish I could have found the rest of them! I am assuming Kaboom could be built up and worn alone, but can you just think of the trouble you would have removing it.

Here is a close up shot of Kaboom, look how tiny those glitters are!

Here is my finished mani! Of course I had to take this photo with my phone, because my camera was not having any of it LOL I really like the way this came out, I think it's a great mani for the spring and summer. I did 2 coats of Don't Even Pink About It and one, as thin as I could, coat of Kaboom. I did apply a thick coat of NYC's Grand Central Station, but for the most part you can still feel the texture of Kaboom. I will also add that Don't Even Pink About It is showing up darker in this photo than what it looks like in person, think pink highlighter and that is really what it looks like.

Not sure if I will have a TIOT post tomorrow, but Wednesday I'll have my review on Maybelline's Dream Smooth Mousse Foundation. Hope y'all come back for that :)

Review: Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Dots So Cool Kit & a Giveaway (CLOSED)

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Last week I had the chance to try out the Dots So Cool nail art kit from Fing'rs, such a great kit! Everything you need for a cute nail look is included in the kit, which is something that I love about kits. Sometimes, really most times, I am so indecisive about what nail colors I want to use for my nail art and with this kit I didn't have to think about what colors because it comes with three fun colors that compliment each other well.

So what does come in the kit? As mentioned above you get three mini nail polishes and a dotting tool. The polishes are really great, they have a great formula and just glide on the nails. The wear time is pretty amazing too, I had this manicure on for about 3 days and did not have any chips in the polish. Dry time was decent too. Now I have a set of dotting tools but I have to say the one that comes in this kit is by far my favorite! I think it makes the most perfect dots, not too big, not too small.

Even though I did not have to pick the colors I wanted to use I still had to decide on how I wanted to do my design, with the three polishes you really have a lot of choices of what you want to do! In the end I decided to use the pink and green for my base colors and the white for the dots. I alternated the pink and green on my fingers for a fun spring look! For the dots I dripped some of the polish on a sheet of paper then dipped the dotting tool in, I did have a cotton ball that had some polish remover on it so I could clean the dotting tool off after I did each nail.

I really love how this came out and I will be using this kit for many more dotticures! Have you used any of Fing'rs nail art kits?

I love the Fing'rs brand and when their PR department offered to send me a couple of the Prints sets I was so excited. Then when the package arrived and I seen Cameo Appearance in there I was even more excited, Camo nails, Oh My Gosh! Yes!

If you've not seen or heard of the Fing'rs Prints they are press on nails very similar to Broadway imPress nails. Review: Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Lace Up Nail Art Kit

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

I discovered Fing'rs products at my local Walmart towards the end of 2013 and they sold out pretty quickly and never got any new products in, but luckily while I was shopping at Walmart a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon some clearance items and found this little gem! It's the Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Lace Up Nail Kit and it was only $3.50! The kit comes with three tiny (.54 fl. oz.) bottles of polish and two lace applique sheets, each sheet has 10 appliques.

As soon as I got this home I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, a gradient mani then apply the appliques. I thought the white space on the appliques was clear, but they are completely open, only the black lines. This made it a tad bit difficult to get them off the sheet and on to my nails. I had to be extra careful so I got the whole applique with out it tearing. After I messed the first one up I got the hang of it and the rest went quite smoothly. After applying the appliques I had to use a file to file off the excess, this process went much smoother than I thought it would and did not leave any jagged edges.

The only other issue I had was the applique that would be for the ring finger was quite small and did not cover up my whole nail, all the other fingers fit just fine.

Overall I am very happy with this little kit, I was able to achieve such a cool nail look. Wear time has been pretty good with these too, I honestly thought they would peel up or have random pieces that would stick up, but with a good coat of top coat, I had no issues with them.

Oh how I wish my Walmart would keep little kits like this in their store all the time LOL

Have you tried any of the Fing'rs Kits? What did you think about them?

MIsh Mash Challenge Week 19: Around the World

I'm back after taking an unwanted week off from blogging with week 19 of the Mish Mash Challenge. Our theme this week was Around the World, and I have been hanging on to some Fing'rs Heart 2 Art nail tattoos that are maps just for this weeks challenge. If I had not ran across these at Walmart sometime ago I really don't know what I would have done for this weeks challenge.

Today you get a rare look at my right hand! I had two different sets of map tattoo papers, but I like the kind that I put on my right hand better, so that is what I went with. Also please do not pay any attention to the shape of my fingers, that is what cold weather, being sick and not taking care of your nails and cuticles will get you :/

This was a really simple nail look to get, I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Snow Me White and applied the tattoo paper. Easy Peasy :)

I am really excited to see what the other ladies did for Around the World! Be sure to stop by and check them out too.

NOTD: Square Studs

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

Here lately I have been getting more and more into nail art and have been loving the looks of nail studs. The ones I am using today come from KKCenterHK and are called N.NAIL Studs Square Laser Purple 3mm. I have tried round nail studs before and liked them, but I really like the looks of the square ones, I feel you can do more with them. The only problem I have with these is I tend to fidget with the studs until they fall off.

I really love the purple holographic look that these have!

I decided to use Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Stop Metalling in My Business for my base color and made a simple look using the studs.

I'm considering trying these with either a black cream polish or a purple cream polish.

Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Tattoo Paper

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

I have been holding on to my Fing'rs Heart 2 Art tattoo paper for quite sometime now, I've never used a product like this before and I figured it was about time to test it out.

The concept of this product is pretty cool and it's super easy to use. All you do is cut the tattoo paper to the correct size for your nail, peel the plastic film off, dunk it in water and place it on your nail for about 10 seconds, the white paper will side off and leave the 'tattoo' on your nail. The only real problem I had was a couple times I accidentally let the tattoo hit my nail while I was trying to align it before actually placing it down and the tattoo stuck instantly to my nail. On one of my nails I some how managed to wrinkle the tattoo and it left a bump on my finished nail look. Other than those few incidents application was great

I was inspired by Krystal over at Beauty By Krystal to try out a form of nail art I had never heard of, translucent nail art, where you do your nail art on bare nails. I really like the looks of this translucent nail art, I just think it looks so clean. So for my nail look I applied Sally Hansen Hard as nails for my base coat, applied the tattoos as described above and sealed it all in with NYC Quick drying top coat. I think I'm going try this technique again, but instead of using a shiny top coat, use a matte one.

Have you tried tattoo paper on your nails or translucent nail art?

Mish Mash Challenge Week 2: Taping

Guess what day it is! Mish Mash Challenge day, of course! Bet you thought I was going to say something else, didn't you?

I was very excited for today's challenge, as I have only done a few taping manicures and I like doing them, although they are very tedious, in my opinion. For today's manicure I used Starburst from Avon's Cosmic collection as my base color, laid down my tape for my design and then painted over that with Black Out from Pure Ice.

I like how this came out, however I do wish that the tape strips were a little bit wider so more of Starburst was visible. I guess I could just put two pieces side by side to make it a tad wider. The striping tape that I used was from Fing'rs Heart 2 Art. Very easy to use I just had to be careful when I was trying to pull some tape out, so that I did not break it off. I figured out the hard way that you have to be very gentle when messing with it.

On to the photos!

Be sure to check out the manicures that the other Mish Masher ladies did for this week!

NOTD: Fing'rs Heart 2 Art In Mint Condition

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

Today's nail of the day features In Mint Condition form Fing'rs Heart 2 Art. I picked this polish up at Walmart for $1.68 I love the color of this polish, it's a nice mint color with a hint of gold, it also has blue glitter.

The application of this polish was okay, the fact that the brush is so long leaves you with a big glob of polish running down the 'wand' which at times caused me to get way to much polish on my nail. I fear that this polish is going to get get very thick after a few times of using it, because it was a little thick to start with. Drying time was average, about 10 minutes.

This polish does feel rough after it dries and I was hoping my topcoat would help that out, but it still feels a little rough. I used the NYC quick drying topcoat.

Have you tried any of the polishes from the Heart 2 Art collection? What did you think about them?

Next Wednesday I will be starting a new Nail Challenge with a great group of ladies that participated in the ABC Nail Challenge! This new challenge is called the Mish Mash Challenge, 30 different manicure ideas, so be sure to stop by next Wednesday and check it out!
