Neon Stars

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Today I have the first of 2 posts I told you about in my last post. The Born Pretty Store sent me these awesome Colored Star & Round Shaped Rhinestones to try out and provide an honest review.

I have been so in love with neons since this spring, I just love the brightness of them, so I started out with two coats of Here Comes Trouble from Wet n Wild's Street Art collection. How gorgeous is that color? At first I was only going to use the pink stars, but I could  not resist using the green ones too! My original plan was to apply one star to each nail up towards the cuticle, but I thought it looked a little plain so I added two more to each nail alternating the colors.

These were very simple to use paint your first coat let it dry then paint the second coat one nail at a time and apply the rhinestone while the polish is still wet and seal it all in with a top coat. I made it a day and a half before I lost one star, not to bad in my opinion. I really like how this came out, I really want to try these on black and white polish ;)

These awesome rhinestones can be purchased on the Born Pretty website for only $7.59 currently on sale for $5.99 for 300 pieces! As always shipping is free and you can save an extra 10% with the coupon code: SMBW10

Hope you all are having a fantastic day!

Easy Splatter Mani

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

I love the look of a splattered mani, but I can't ever seem to create one that I like, so I got these really cool 3D nail stickers from the Born Pretty Store to try out and review. You get quite a few splatters in yellow, orange, pink and green. When I saw them online I saw my mani flash before my eyes, okay maybe not flash before my eyes, but I knew what I wanted to do with them.

Since these stickers are so bright I thought white would be the perfect background for them, so I pulled out Snow Me White from Sinful Colors and applied 2 coats to even out the streaks. White polish always streaks with me, does it with anyone else?

After my nails had fully dried I got out my tweezers and started randomly applying them, all I had to do was just rub them a little bit and they were good to go! These are a little bit thicker than a water decal and a lot less messy to work with, no need for water since they are stickers. I also think that you could apply them with out using tweezers if you wanted to.

I think a thick layer of top coat is necessary, at least for me, cause you can feel the edges of the stickers and I was afraid they might start to peel off if I didn't have a good layer of top coat. I applied one layer of my NYC quick drying topcoat then applied a layer of Sally Hansen Double Duty Base and Top Coat. I've had them on for about 3 or 4 days now and they still look good, no issues with them at all.

I really like these, I've gotten quite a few compliments on them! They are just really unique and fun to play with. You can find these on the Born Pretty Store website and they are only $1.59 plus you can save 10% with Coupon Code: SMBW10 and as always free shipping!

Halloween Nails: Part 3

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

Today I am back with the third and final part of my Halloween nails mini series. Today's look is a cute simple nail look I created using dotting tools!

To start off I painted my nails with green shade for my base. I had four greens in my collection that I thought would look great for this and I could not decide on which one I wanted to use so I used them all. On my index finger I used Wild Thing from Pure Ice, my middle finger is Free Spirit also from Pure Ice, on my ring finger I used Happy Endings from Sinful colors and on my little finger I use a bright neon green from L.A. Colors that does not have a name. I then took a white cream and put 2 dots on each nail, then came back with a black cream polish and a slightly smaller dotting tool and placed black dots on each of the white dots to create the eyes. I then took a smaller dotting tool and drew a horizontal line under the eyes and then made a few vertical lines across the horizontal line to form a little mouth.

I had a lot of fun with this series and I hope you enjoyed it too. Let me know if this is something you would like to see for Christmas nails as well.

Halloween Nails: Part 2

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

Today I am back with the second part of my Halloween nails mini series. Today's look is  more on the gory side, it's bloody finger prints!

To start off I painted my nails white with Sinful Colors Snow Me White, my new favorite white nail polish. Then I took Sally Hansen Cherry Red and dripped some drops on to a sheet of paper, lightly put my finger tip in it to get some polish on it. I then took my finger and lightly pressed it on the sheet of paper one or two times to get some of the excess off and took what was left on my finger tip and pressed it on to my nail. The finger prints did not come out as good as I hoped they would, but I still like this look. It's a little gross, but super fun at the same time. For me this method was a lot like stamping, a little trial and error till you get the look you want. On a few of my nails I put more than one fingerprint.

Is this something you would do for Halloween? Be sure to check back next Thursday when I conclude my Halloween series, it will be a 'monstrous' good time!

Nail of the Day: KKCenterHK Water Decals

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

Today I have a cute nail look to share with you using Blue Feet water decals from KKCenterHK. The set came with 26 decals, 13 blue feet and 13 green feet. I chose to use the blue for this nail look.

I used Sally Hansen Blue Me Away! for my base on three fingers and Sinful Colors Snow Me White for my accent nail, to help the decal stand out better. After placing the decal on I thought my other fingers looked too plain, so I used a dotting tool to add a few dots to my other fingers. I really like the look I got, just something cute and fun.

This was the first time I had ever used water decals like this, so it took me a few tries before I got it right. The decal kept wanting to curl up on me, I was using tweezers and I think it would have been better to just slide it off with my finger then placed it on my nail. I will be giving these another try. They are just too cute!

Have you used water decals before? What is the best way to do them in your opinion?

Get to Know Me: The Beauty Blogger Tag

Hi everyone! I seen this fun looking tag over on Katy's blog, Skin Stuff by Katy, and I love doing and reading tag posts. So let's get started!

1. Is your hair naturally curly or straight?
My hair is naturally curly, something that I wish I had known a long tine ago. Went through most of my school years with horrible hair cause I didn't know it was naturally curly.

2. Do you dye it yourself, or go to a salon?
I do it myself, though you can't really tell it. It is so dark and I would love to make it lighter in the spring and summer months, but it just won't lighten for me lol

3. Do you wear the same style everyday, or do you change it?
For the most part it is the same. I wear it straight some days, curled with a curling wand, or natural. When I don't go any where it is usually pulled back.

4. Do you do your own mani/pedi, or go to a salon?
I always do my own.

5. How often do you change your polish?
On my fingers I change it 2 or 3 times a week. My toes usually get changed when it starts to chip or wear off.

6. Do you polish your toes in winter or just the summer?
Usually only in the spring and summer. Every once in a while I might do them in the winter.

7. How long does it take for you to put on makeup?
That depends, if I just want a nice natural look I can usually get it done in about 5 to 10 minutes. If I want something more I would say it takes me about 15 to 20 minutes.

8. What do you do first, face or eyes?
Almost always do my face first.

9. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it?
Started off just getting what I needed when I needed it, then started collecting it some what, now I am back to just getting what I need when I need it.

10. How often do you wear false eyelashes?
Never wear them, not a big fan of them and they do not work well with my glasses.

11. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday?
Nope

12. Do you wear makeup makeup when you're home alone or with family?
Usually not. I do try out new eye makeup looks when I am home alone, but take it off not too long after I put it on.

13. Will you leave your house with out makeup?
Honestly I don't like too. I can only think of 2 times in the past few years that I have left my house without makeup and both times I was so sick I just didn't care.

14. How many high-end products do you have?
I have a couple of Model Co lip glosses that I consider high-end because they cost $16 each. And I have high-end deluxe size samples that came in my Birchbox when I was getting those.

15. Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you're getting dressed?
The only time I plan my OOTD is on Sunday's for church, otherwise I would always be late LOL

16. How often do you change your handbag?
Not very often. When I find one that I really like I tend to stick with it.

17. What time do you wake up and go to sleep?
Well my hubby works a weird schedule and it's usually very late before he gets in from work so it's like 1am before we go to bed. Then I wake up at 7:30 to get him up, and I'll lay back down til about 9:30 and see him off to work, then I start my day.

18. How often or when do you workout?
Um, yeah I don't like to and I know that's bad! Hubby and I have agreed to start walking about 30 minutes on the days he is off.

19. Left handed or right handed?
Right.

20. How tall are you?
5'4

21. Do you speak any foreign languages?
Nope

22. How many pets do you have?
I have to adorable cats. Mopey and Buzzy, shortened names that came from their original names of Smokey and Bandit. Love them ♥

23. How often are you on Blogger?
Every single day LOL I don't blog every day or comment on blogs everyday, but I'm here.

24. Do you read comments posted on blogs?
Yes, I do. I like seeing what others have to say.

25. Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts?
I try to keep a mental list of products I see on others blogs that I would like to try, but have been thinking about actually making a list. That way I won't forget any of the products.

26. How did you come up with your blog name?
Well I had been looking for blogs that were based on beauty products that were budget friendly, and after not being able to find many I decided I'd just start one, and Small Budget Beauty just came to me.

27. What kind of camera do you use for photographs?
I use a Kodak EasyShare Z981

28. How often do you clean your house?
I try to vacuum every other day, because of my fur-babies. And I like to try to pick up and straighten and clean everything else once a week. Granted not every week goes as planned.

29. What's your favorite color?
I have been asked this several times and honestly I don't have one. I just like anything that is bright and pretty.

30. Do you swear?
No.

31. What are you going to do with the rest of your day?
Well seeing as how it is 7:30 pm I am going to settle in and watch the Braves game! Love me some Braves baseball!

Wow! That was a long one! Hope you all enjoy reading and learning a little more about me! I tag anyone that would like to do this tag :)
