Broadway Gradient

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

As you know I am trying to chip away at this massive pile of untried nail polish, so today I have not one but two colors for you!

Today I have two polishes from Broadway Nails, Sour Apple and Easter Annie. Both of these are cream polishes and a little on the thick side, once I seen how thick they were I opted to do a gradient mani and they worked amazingly well for that.

I started off by getting one of the wedge shaped makeup sponges and letting water run over it then squeezing it out, this helps to not have to use so much nail polish. I set my sponge to the side and painted all my nails with Avon Iceberg, a white nail polish. Once that dried I began working on my gradient, I did them all the same way with the exception of my ring fingers, I flipped the colors just to change it up a bit ;) I topped everything off with some Salon Perfect Cosmic Dust, which my camera refuses to take a good photo of. I can not for the life of me get a good shot of all the sparkle that it contains!

I really love the way this came out, I even had a little old lady comment on them saying "look what beautiful nails"!

I get to work the day shift on Saturday and have Sunday off so I will chip away at this pile a little more over the weekend!

Review: Kiss Complete Salon Acrylic Kit

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings | Gifted

Today I want to share with you my thoughts on the Kiss Complete Salon Acrylic Kit. First off let me start with the reason I went out and purchased this kit; simply I just have bad nails. It seems like no matter what I do to try and help them grow, nothing helps, I end up with weak nails that break and peel like you wouldn't believe. I've tried nail hardeners, I've tried using Vitamin E oil on them, filing the ends to 'seal' them off and I've not seen any real results from any of that. I got to a point where I was just fed up with my polish peeling off because my nails were peeling so off to Walmart I went to get this kit.

I looked at a couple other kits before I made the decision to go with this one. One reason I went with the Kiss brand is because I've used one of their acrylic kits before

Review: Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Lace Up Nail Art Kit

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose | Giveaway Winnings

I discovered Fing'rs products at my local Walmart towards the end of 2013 and they sold out pretty quickly and never got any new products in, but luckily while I was shopping at Walmart a couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon some clearance items and found this little gem! It's the Fing'rs Heart 2 Art Lace Up Nail Kit and it was only $3.50! The kit comes with three tiny (.54 fl. oz.) bottles of polish and two lace applique sheets, each sheet has 10 appliques.

As soon as I got this home I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it, a gradient mani then apply the appliques. I thought the white space on the appliques was clear, but they are completely open, only the black lines. This made it a tad bit difficult to get them off the sheet and on to my nails. I had to be extra careful so I got the whole applique with out it tearing. After I messed the first one up I got the hang of it and the rest went quite smoothly. After applying the appliques I had to use a file to file off the excess, this process went much smoother than I thought it would and did not leave any jagged edges.

The only other issue I had was the applique that would be for the ring finger was quite small and did not cover up my whole nail, all the other fingers fit just fine.

Overall I am very happy with this little kit, I was able to achieve such a cool nail look. Wear time has been pretty good with these too, I honestly thought they would peel up or have random pieces that would stick up, but with a good coat of top coat, I had no issues with them.

Oh how I wish my Walmart would keep little kits like this in their store all the time LOL

Have you tried any of the Fing'rs Kits? What did you think about them?

Mish Mash Challenge Week 4: Nail Art You've Never Tried Before

I am super excited about this weeks challenge, as it has challenged me to try a nail art technique that I've never tried before! Every time I see a gradient nail art I always say to myself 'I want to try that!' Well this week I did and I have to say I don't think I did too bad for my first time!

I painted my nails with Milani's White on the Spot for my base color, I then used three Sinful Colors polishes for my gradient, 24/7 (pink) Amethyst (purple) and Happy Ending (green). I love how bright it came out and I am proud of myself for giving a new technique a try.

I can't wait to see what everyone else did for their never before tried technique!
