ABC Nail Challenge: Letter G

Today is all about the Letter G from the ABC Nail Challenge. I was not happy with my G mani at all. It started out too plain, I tried to 'spice' it up and in my opinion failed LOL.

For letter G I used Gold Dust from Pure Ice, it's a very pretty pale gold color. I used 2 coats in the photos below. The next day or so my tips were fading and one nail was chipped, so I decided I would try a funky french mani. I used some masking tape and some craft scissors that cut a design instead of a a strait line and used it as my guide, so to speak, for my french mani. It didn't turn out the way I had imagined it in my mind. It's all about trial and error :)

Be sure to check out the other ladies that are participating in this challenge!

  1. Yes it is about trial and error and what works best for you. Practice makes perfect. I think this turned out nice with black tips!

  5. I agree that practice makes perfect! Plus I think the funky scissors shape is really hard to work with!

  6. Why doesn't Canada have pure ice polish?!? So unfair!

    1. I had no idea that pure ice was not sold in Canada! I do know that you can buy from their online store http://baricosmetics.com/

  7. Super job. You show here what I love most about this favored craft of ours: where we take something pretty cool, and turn it into Something Special. No fail here...not one bit.

I say you've got a success on your hands! :)

  9. It's funny how something that doesn't turn out the way we envisioned doesn't get the chance to be judged by how it looks, but by how it was SUPPOSED to look. I like it - the scallop makes the tip interesting. If you still don't like it, we got another letter coming up!

  11. I think it's a great idea and the result is nice! Ok, not perfect, but what would be the fun in that?

  12. I love it!! I think it would be a great idea for Halloween! Somehow the black tips remind me of the Jack-o-Lanterns ;)

  13. I love the idea of using the funky scissors! I had so many issues when I tried doing it that I just gave up haha but I like how the design turned out here so I'll definitely have to try again. I think your idea would look awesome over white! :) xoxo

  14. I actually really like it!! I love doing different shapes with scissors, I'm so mad because I threw the scissors I used to have for scrapbooking. I need to get a pair. I love the base color too!!

  15. That's actually kind of a cool twist on the French mani, imo! I wouldn't think to use the funky scissors.
