For letter G I used Gold Dust from Pure Ice, it's a very pretty pale gold color. I used 2 coats in the photos below. The next day or so my tips were fading and one nail was chipped, so I decided I would try a funky french mani. I used some masking tape and some craft scissors that cut a design instead of a a strait line and used it as my guide, so to speak, for my french mani. It didn't turn out the way I had imagined it in my mind. It's all about trial and error :)

Yes it is about trial and error and what works best for you. Practice makes perfect. I think this turned out nice with black tips!
ReplyDeletePractice does make perfect :) If at first you don't succeed, try, try again.
DeleteI really like the pattern on the french!
ReplyDeleteThank you.
DeletePure Ice has a lot of interesting shades. I love this one, it's so elegant.
ReplyDeleteI really like it! It's a neat effect.
ReplyDeleteI think that is a very nice manicure :))
ReplyDeleteNice nails.
ReplyDeleteI agree that practice makes perfect! Plus I think the funky scissors shape is really hard to work with!
ReplyDeleteYes it is hard to work with.
DeleteWhy doesn't Canada have pure ice polish?!? So unfair!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that pure ice was not sold in Canada! I do know that you can buy from their online store http://baricosmetics.com/
DeleteSuper job. You show here what I love most about this favored craft of ours: where we take something pretty cool, and turn it into Something Special. No fail here...not one bit.
ReplyDeleteI say you've got a success on your hands! :)
Lisa
Thanks Lisa :)
DeleteTrial and error is the fun part...right? ;) I think you did a good job!
ReplyDeleteYes, that is the fun part :)
DeleteIt's funny how something that doesn't turn out the way we envisioned doesn't get the chance to be judged by how it looks, but by how it was SUPPOSED to look. I like it - the scallop makes the tip interesting. If you still don't like it, we got another letter coming up!
ReplyDeleteThat's true
DeleteI love the french tips!!
ReplyDeleteThat color really looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks :)
DeleteI think it's a great idea and the result is nice! Ok, not perfect, but what would be the fun in that?
ReplyDeleteI love it!! I think it would be a great idea for Halloween! Somehow the black tips remind me of the Jack-o-Lanterns ;)
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of using the funky scissors! I had so many issues when I tried doing it that I just gave up haha but I like how the design turned out here so I'll definitely have to try again. I think your idea would look awesome over white! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteI actually really like it!! I love doing different shapes with scissors, I'm so mad because I threw the scissors I used to have for scrapbooking. I need to get a pair. I love the base color too!!

That's actually kind of a cool twist on the French mani, imo! I wouldn't think to use the funky scissors.
ReplyDeleteI like it! Pretty color!
