BBHQ April Task: Inspirations

Beauty Blogger HeadquartersToday I am back with April's Task from Beauty Blogger Headquarters. This month we are talking about inspirations!

What inspires me to blog?
Honestly it's just my love for beauty products. No one in my family or any of my friends are really as interested in beauty products and nail polish as I am, so blogging gives me an outlet to share my obsession :)

Share some of your favorite blogs to read for inspiration:
I don't really feel like I read other blogs for inspiration, I feel like I read other blogs for information on products. But some blogs that I do love to read are:
Green Eyed Monster
Quick Cheap and Pretty
Miranda's Makeup & More
World According to Shia
Check out my Blogs I Follow tab for several other great blogs!

Share some of your favorite YouTube channels to watch for inspiration:
Some of the YouTube Channels I enjoy watching are:
Ingrid from missglamorazzi
Emily from emilynoel83
and my new favorite Mellissa from Melmphs

What are your favorite magazines to browse for inspiration:
Currently I have been finding some inspiration from Redbook and Marie Claire

How do you organize your inspiration?
I use Pinterest to pin makeup looks and manicures that I would like to try. With magazines I will either mark the page by folding it down or just tear the page out.

What motivates you to continue blogging?
My passion obsession of beauty, makeup and nail products is a large part of what keeps me motivated to continue blogging. Another thing that keeps me motivated to continue blogging are all my lovely subscribers :) when I started blogging I really didn't think anyone would be interested in my thoughts and opinions of beauty products because I either didn't look like most of the girls on YouTube or because I don't purchase high end products, but now I have 78 followers via GFC and I am very thankful for each and everyone of my subscribers :)

How would you describe your style of blogging? How has it changed from when you first started?
I don't know that I really have a 'style' of blogging. I just try to give the facts and honest reviews. I think one way my 'style' of blogging has changed since I stared is that I feel like I give more in depth reviews.

How do you handle competitive thoughts with other bloggers?
I don't have competitive thoughts with or about other bloggers. We all have different styles of blogging and blog differently, I think that is what's great about the beauty blogging community.

Review/Swatch: OPI Bubble Bath

Today I wanted to share with you another nail polish. This one is Bubble Bath by OPI. This was a product that I won in a giveaway.

This is my very first OPI nail polish and I'm impressed with it. It's a beautiful pinky nude color. Since this is a very light color it tends to be sheer. I think I  used 2 coats, I can't remember it's been a couple of weeks since I used it. Anywho, I think this polish is great if you are looking for a barley there or natural looking manicure. I also think it would be a great polish to use for a french manicure.

I wanted to bling it up a little bit so I topped it off with Essie's As Gold as it Gets.

For this polish I'm giving it an application rating of 5/5, goes on super smooth, no streaks.

For pigmentation I'm going to give it a 3/5, I know this is a light color, but I wish it went on as 'dark' as it looks in the bottle. I guess if I added an extra coat it might have.

For quality I'm giving it a 5/5, Great formula.
For price it gets 2/5 only because I'm cheap LOL.
As far as longevity of the polish, as I've said before I don't usually leave my polish on more than a few days and my chipping peeling nails don't help much in testing the longevity :)

Overall: 15/20

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter N

Happy Wednesday! It's time for the ABC Nail Challenge, today's letter is 'N' and today 'N' stands for NEON! Although my camera totally washed out the polish even without the flash LOL.

I went with something simple this week, the weather where I live has finally started warming up and Hubs and I have been running around all week :) I used Sinful Colors 24/7 and stamped with MASH Nail Art Stamp Stamping Image Plate No 48.

Be sure to check out what the other ladies did for the letter N.

Review/Swatch NYC Lexington Yellow

Finally I have found a great yellow colored nail polish, NYC's Lexington Yellow!   I picked up this polish from Walmart for $1.72

I love this color, it's just a great sunshiny yellow. It's not too bright, to me it's just the perfect shade. The only complaint that I have about this polish is, that it's streaky. I had to apply 3 coats before it no longer looked streaky. Other than that I love this polish, great bright color for spring and summer.

For this polish I'm giving it an application rating of 2/5, just because of the streaky-ness. For pigmentation I'm going to give it a 4/5, I feel like because of it being streaky you have to apply to many coats to achieve good pigmentation. For quality again I'm giving it a 4/5, only because of it being streaky. For price it gets 5/5. As far as longevity of the polish, I can't really score that for two reasons; one, polish rarely stays on my nails for 3 days, I like to change it up, and 2, which is probably a result from number one, my nails chip and peel like crazy :(
Overall: 15/20

Wanted to spice up the yellow, as if it needed it LOL. Threw a few streaks on with a fan brush, using another NYC polish I recently purchased.
