Mish Mash Challenge Week 8: Cold

Sorry I could not resist! Seriously though it is Mish Mash Challenge day! This week our theme was cold. When I think cold, blue automatically comes to my mind, so I decided to do another water marble (I think I may be obsessed with them) using Sally Hansen Blue Me Away and Sinful Colors Snow Me White. I really like how it came out although I smudged my pinkie.

Also as some of you may know, I was at the beach on vacation last week and I love to take pictures and share them, so I thought I would share a few here. If you want to check out all the other pictures I took at the beach, well not all of them because I took around 600, but 150 of the good ones, you can check them out on my Facebook page.

Can't wait do see what everyone else did for cold! Be sure to stop by and check out all the ladies posts.

Mish Mash Challenge Week 7: Least Expensive Polish

Welcome to week seven of the Mish Mash Challenge! This week we are creating manicures with out least expensive polishes in our collection. I went back and forth about which ones were my least expensive, I thought, well the ones I've won or were gifted were free, but I opted to go with a polish that I bought myself, I used Mind Your Own Beeswax from Spoiled. I got this polish when CVS was having their 75% off sale and I only paid $.49 for it!

For this mani I was going to do something different on each finger, but after I did a water marble on each of my ring fingers I liked it so much I just did it to all my fingers. I put down 2 coats of MYOB, then used Black Satin, a cream polish from Rimmel (I also got for 75% off at CVS) and the MYOB to make a nice water marble design. I am very satisfied with how it turned out.

I can't wait to see what everyone's least expensive polish manicures look like. Stop by and check them out.

Mish Mash Challenge Week 5: Music

Welcome to another installment of the Mish Mash Challenge! When I seen the theme for this week was music I had a brilliant idea in my head, paint music notes on my nails, can we say total fail. Y'all it was such a disaster, I tried 3 times to paint them on and it looked terrible each time. So I was thinking what in the world am I going to do for music. My hubby offered to paint them on for me, and I was like okay, but before he got the chance to we went to visit my family and my Niece wanted me to do her nails, and she brought out these nail stickers and guess what was on there, Music Notes! Week 5 Mani saved LOL!

For my base colors I used White on the Spot from Milani and Black Out from Pure Ice. I then placed the stickers my lovely, mani-saver Niece supplied me with on my ring fingers as an accent nail. After I did that I still thought it looked a little plain so I topped my nails with some Color Club glitter polish that I won in a giveaway that the fantastic Liz, from A Mani Maniac, had a few weeks ago.

And here is the end result:

Stop by the other ladies blogs and see what they did for Music Week! I'm still healing from my oral surgery, so it may be later in the week before I get around to every ones blog.

Mish Mash Challenge Week 4: Nail Art You've Never Tried Before

I am super excited about this weeks challenge, as it has challenged me to try a nail art technique that I've never tried before! Every time I see a gradient nail art I always say to myself 'I want to try that!' Well this week I did and I have to say I don't think I did too bad for my first time!

I painted my nails with Milani's White on the Spot for my base color, I then used three Sinful Colors polishes for my gradient, 24/7 (pink) Amethyst (purple) and Happy Ending (green). I love how bright it came out and I am proud of myself for giving a new technique a try.

I can't wait to see what everyone else did for their never before tried technique!

Mish Mash Challenge Week 3: Metallic

It's Wednesday and that means it's Mish Mash Challenge day! This weeks challenge which was metallic nails. I have a whole set of L.A. Colors polished that are labeled as metallic that I think I have only wore one color from, so I thought today would be a great day to showcase another color from that set. These polished do not have names or numbers which is kind of a bummer, so well just call this one 'The Green One'. Application was great and I love how quick it dries. I felt it was a little plain so I decided to add a rhinestone on my ring finger. Not sure if the stone really helped or not, but I thought it was sorta cute.

Mish Mash Challenge Week 1: Purple

Sponsored | Bought Myself | Press Sample | Nothing to Disclose

I'm so excited for today, as I am starting a new weekly nail challenge with some wonderful ladies! This challenge is called the Mish Mash Challenge, basically because it is 30 weeks of random nail challenges!

For week one the challenge was Purple. I chose a polish that I don't think I have worn before, Amethyst by Sinful Colors. It is a beautiful medium purple cream polish. I thought it was a bit blah by it's self so I added Essie's Luxe Effects in Shine of the Times on top of it. I really like the way it came out.

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter T

Today I am back with an ABC Nail Challenge Post! We are up to the letter T.
With Memorial Day coming up I wanted to have something to go with that, since I will be attending a Motorcycle event for Veterans. I went with Twist and Shout by Pure Ice, it is a red and blue glitter mix in a clear base. I put a white cream polish on as my base color.

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter S

I can not believe that we are already on Letter 'S' in the ABC Nail Challenge and that we only have 7 letters left!!!

For letter 'S' I decided to use one of my new polishes that I have never worn, Savage by Sinful colors. It's a very pretty turquoise type color, which to my surprise when I swatched it dries to a matte finish. I do like matte finishes from time to time, but I always know that I can top it with a shiny topcoat if I'm not feeling in a matte mood.

When I began to paint my nails with Savage I was impressed that I only needed on coat! Who does not like a polish like that! Of course with it being a matte polish I dried very quickly. However, it did leave my nails with a bit of a blue tint when I took it off :/

I wanted to add just a bit of bling to my nails, so I used My Wonderland by Pure Ice on my ring finger for an accent nail. I liked this mani, just hate that it left my nails a little blue.

My nail product trial ends tomorrow, so I will finally get to paint my nails again! 14 days is a long time to go without painting them lol!

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter R

It's time for another ABC Nail Challenge post! Today is Letter R and I decided to use Ruffled Sheets by Pure Ice, a limited edition polish from the Runway Collection. Ruffled Sheets is a silver metallic looking polish that dries to a matte finish, or Velour finish is how Pure Ice describes it. I really like this polish, the finish is nice if you are a fan of matte polishes, if not you can top it with a shiny top coat. The first coat you put on dries really fast, but when you add another coat it seems to take a lot longer to dry than the first coat. I opted to do some stamping, I used Cherry Red from Sally Hansen and Mash stamping plate #45 and I topped it off with NYC's fast drying topcoat.

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter Q

It's time for the ABC Nail Challenge!

I do not have a single nail polish color or brand that starts with the letter Q, nor could I think of a type of nail art that started with the letter Q. So I found a polish in my stash that had the letter Q in it somewhere LOL, which is Sea-Quin by Pure Ice. This was one of their limited edition polishes from the Runway Collection. I added Sea-Quin on top of  Happy Ending by Sinful Colors.

I kinda feel like I cheated because neither of them start with Q, but I worked with what I had. I have also been selected as participant in a nail product testing group, that starts today, and I will not be able to paint my nails for 2 weeks!!! (I can't go in to any details about it now, but when the trial is over I will tell all about it). I went ahead and did my S and R manis, so I won't have to skip any of the challenge days :)

Okay, on to the Letter Q photos:

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter P

Time for Letter P from the ABC Nail Challenge! I can not believe we only have 10 letters left! Today I am super excited about the polish I chose. Last summer NYC came out with a limited edition collection called Summer in the City, and there was this amazing polish that was part of that collection and I could never find it. Trust me I spend all summer trying to hunt it down. Well this past weekend, my husband and I went to visit my Mom and we stopped by a Dollar Tree on the way down there and I found the oh so hard to find limited edition polish!!! YAY! The polish is called Peach Sparkle and I just LOVE it and feel like I totally scored by finding it for $1.00!

The polish goes on very nicely I do think it is a bit sheer, so I used 3 coats. I'm thinking about trying it over black and white and see how it turns out. It dries super quick too, usually I dread trying to use 3 coats of polish, but this dried so fast it was no big deal.

This is a peach colored polish with major gold shimmer to it. So glad that my camera picked up a very accurate shot of this beautiful polish.

ABC Nail Challenge: Letter O

Oh my goodness I can't believe we are a little over halfway done with this challenge! We are up to letter O. I decided to use Nicole by OPI in the shade One Big Happy Fame-ily from the Kardashian collection.

I really love this polish it is a beautiful lavender color. It has a hint of silver shimmer to it. My Father-in-Law even commented on it!

Application was great, went on very easily. It is a bit sheer, so I did three coats.

Can't wait to see what everyone else did for the letter O!
